Yep, you could also call him a polymath. He'll always be known, first and foremost though, as the lead singer for Iron Maiden. With the possible excepton of RJD or Rob Halford I can't think of any better metal singer.

A published author, a world class fencer, the lead singer and a songwriter in one of the most successful bands in modern music history, he beat throat cancer, he pilots a 747, flying Iron Maiden around the world and he speaks in a calm, friendly, intelligent, considerate, articulate manner when interviewed. Any single accomplishment of his would make anyone else an overall success in life. Bruce is a very unique person to say the least. Unstoppable and a model of achievement for anyone. I hope he lives past 100!Cheers Bruce!

He's very polite. Maybe a bit rigid so the rapport is not quite there to begin with. Usually with these things you're not seeing the folks watching behind camera such as various PRs, folks from the label, loudwire etc which can make it quite artificial and stressful for the interviewer. In a previous life I was a music journalist and I had a love / hate relationship with interviews.

Even though it might feel monotonous and repetitive to do all the tours, I hope Bruce knows how much each event means to us. I have had the privilege to see Iron Maiden one time this year in Charlotte and I have to say it is the best concert I have been to. You are changing lives and making memories and you should feel proud of it. I know fans can be crazy 😝. But it’s all (mostly) our adoration of all of the work put in by the band, the producers, the set designers, and all the people who form fundamental parts that make the shows absolutely outstanding. Thank you Bruce and thank you Iron Maiden for being the best band in the world.

6:54 AND, as good writers/producers know, the first part of anything and the last part are what people remember most and the first is most important as it's the HOOK, the first thing they hear so you want that to be just amazing and the first line of Heaven and Hell.... Ronnie sings that so great and probably true that he had to do it a few times to please the producer who knew it needed to be gold or you wouldn't be happy with it 20 years later.

I remember getting on a bus with a school mate going to see the Fear of the Dark tour in Birmingham, and we were by far the youngest fans on the bus. Who would have thought nearly 30 years on, I'm now that old geezer and there are new generations of fans popping up all the time. I met Bruce in Nottingham one time briefly and got to shake his hand (back when he was doing his solo material), very amiable chap. I also know someone who is an amateur pilot and bumped into him at an airport maybe 3 or 4 years back in France. He was a big Maiden fan, but they spent 30 minutes talking nothing but planes.

Thanks to Loudwire and Bruce for doing this interview. I believe that all of us in our lives we have a “fear of the dark” but have to “push that button” in order to grow. Your comments are very thoughtful and you’re very articulate. I got introduced to Maiden in my teens and I’m still listening in my 40’s and Powerslave solos still earn me speeding tickets. Thank you Bruce and Iron Maiden for always bringing a smile on mine and I believe ALL our faces! Up the Irons!!🤘

Sadly, the last time I saw Iron Maiden was on the Somewhere on Tour in either Dallas or Fort Worth, supporting, obviously the Somewhere in Time album. I still remember it being an excellent show. Good enough that I had to look it up to find out that the supporting act was Vinnie Vincent Invasion on both shows. I'm jealous too because I just looked it up and found out that a good portion of the European countries got W. A. S. P. for the support act. That's a show I definitely would have remembered. Anyway, Bruce does great interviews, even though sometines he seems to stumble while looking for exactly the right word. I'm really not sure why, but for some reason I had to hear Iron Maiden a few days ago, out of nowhere. Now I'm stuck in this KZread endless rabbit hole of Iron Maiden videos 😅😅😅

Currently, half way through his book. Reading the part, where he just "quits" iron maiden cuz he 's bored with it and wants to do his own thing. Then he goes and does a concert in Yugoslavia with his own band, where there's currently a war going on. Amazing. He gave Iron Maiden a shot of new energy. Not just his singing, but his songwriting. Up until then, it was all the band leader(bassist, Steve Harris) his band and his songs. This also reminds me of Rick Springfield touring in Vietnam during the war with his Aussie band.

GodXeria for me the “creator of the universe” would be either Steve Albini (produced Neurosis, fav band of all time) or Chuck Schuldiner (vocalist/guitarist of Death). And also, I’ve never quite been a huge Maiden fan, more on the Priest side myself. But hey, here’s to the future of metal! Cheers!

I am so happy for this video. To me Bruce Dickinson is the best example on how a true professional singer should be. I always admire how incredibly successful he is. The most incredible thing to me is how he became a pilot of the biggest commercial planes out there. Wow thats just amazing Bruce. Also he is an inspiration to me to stay away from drugs, this guy believe it or not with all the money he has and all the fame and the environment he is surrounded all the time he managed to never touch drugs, I believe thats why he is so successful and so professional. I truly admire you Bruce and would love to have 5 minutes with you in person just to tell you that. Also I need to point out that all Iron Maiden members to me are just as professionals and great examples of how a true band should be. Up The Irons. One of the most amazing and enduring bands on earth.
