Bruce came 4th in the Irish National [2022]

I made the trip to Co. Antrim to compete in the Irish National Sheepdog trials. the trial was held near the town of Carnlough and the village of Glenarm.
Antrim is renowned for its sheepdog handlers. Michael Gallagher won the International Supreme Championship sheepdog trial in 2011.
150 of Irelands best sheepdogs and their handlers attended the Irish National sheep dog trial this year.
I was the very first competitor to run, with my dog Jim. it wasn't easy going first because we were like the crash test dummy!
but I ran the dog in this video, Bruce, on the last day of the National . we had a good run here and finished in 4th place overall.
this placing means that we have qualified to be on the Irish team that will go forward to compete in the International Sheepdog trial in September. the International sheepdog trials will be held in Castle Howard Estate, near York in the UK.
Bruce is also qualified to run at the World sheepdog trial in Gill Hall in 2023. Gill Hall is also in Northern Ireland. it is in Co. Down.

Just rewatched your run !! I had forgotten just how well the two sheds where done !!! Good Dog Bruce !!! Touch wood in September !!

Lovely run, great handling and Bruce did such a nice job helping hold the line and reading those sheep. Very fun to watch.

It was awesome when I saw them go through the panels but it wouldn't have been very funny if we'd been off a hair and breezed out the high side 😄..its good when it works ha

With the distance off the sheep, I had to manage Bruce to keep him back there. He likes to push on and get it done
great run!
Great run Paddy. Bruce has a nice big outrun that I like.

Thanks Wayne..he had me sweating a but though for the first quarter of the outrun because I had set him to go wider than he did..but then he kicked out lovely when he hit the rise
Wish we could figure out away for me to come there with my little girl (2 yrs) and train with you.
