Here's why I use and always will be using Edge. 1. It has built-in AI, help me alot coding and troubleshooting. 2. Has unique features like collection which is kinda like a folder for tabs, you can open all the tabs inside of it in 1 click. 3. It now has workspace, you can invite people inside a workspace and all the tabs insode the workspace will be running in their PC as well. 4. Imo The UI is better than Chrome, eat less RAM & smoother more responsive system as compared to chrome.

@@tbqhwyf Yeah, my Chrome only eats 2.2 GB of RAM for 37 tabs. From my experience Chrome RAM management is quite decent and i do remember Firefox eating quite a lot even with one tab. Yup, 330 MB with just New tab open. And 660 MB with only tab being opened is this shorts. And it is more than 1/4 of what 37 tabs take in Chrome mind you.

So many people get this wrong, the above comments are right. Chrome will use up to the full allocation of ram that the config settings allow it to (which often seems like a whole lot). However, this doesn't mean it's actually utilizing the entire 100% all at once. It pre-allocates memory to ensure a smoother and faster operation when needed while being ready to release it if other programs require memory. This helps maintain a responsive user experience on Chrome (and why people found it wickedly fast when it first came out back in the day). If another program needs memory, chrome will happily hand it off.

I've stopped using Chrome all together and have completely switched to Firefox and I'm now just enjoying sailing the seas.

Safari is much better than IE at the rendering stuff and the dev tools aren’t that bad by comparison. There’s zero reason to consider it worse than IE. It even still shares a bit of its rendering and browser engine code with Chrome.

I use different browsers for different things, and edge is the browser I use for uni work. What annoys me to NO END about chrome, is that EVERY SINGLE TAB is shown as it's own window when I want to alt+tab through my programs.

I actually switched from chrome to edge, i love its tab grouping feature a lot

Edge's bing chat can read whatever page your have loaded in the browser, including local files ~ that can absolutely be useful in a development context. 4. It uses less RAM.. How is that not useful as a dev?

@@mei1568 Some guy showed how to block the Microsoft ads from edge by redirecting all the traffic that would go towards them back to your computer (127.0.0.1) thus that traffic doesn't even use internet. Though, you's still have to use an ad blocker for the other ads.

A reason to use Edge over Chrome is some of the advanced settings, which developers/testers might need, that have been neutered in Chrome - such as media auto-play and allow-insecure-content.

personally they never worked for me, and also Opera GX is owned by a Chinese company and has been confirmed to be spyware, i'm better off using Vivaldi which is made by the company that used to own Opera before selling it.

I just prefer edge because its easy to switch between work, personal, and college profiles. The tooling in it is better and feels more integrated than chrome. I don't even know why I would go back to chrome at this point. Firefox on my personal computers, with ocacional edge use, edge on my work computers, and Brave on my phone, some times forefox focus

The only worth thing to use on Chrome for regular users is its Google lens sync with their smartphone app. Otherwise Edge faraway better with a lot of features, since Edge move to chromium there's no need to install another 2nd ads spy chromium browser along.

You won't catch me using safari, not even as a last resort

I use Edge because my employer has Copilot for Business. I'm allowed to send it code snippets and whatnot without compromising data. Pretty cool! Before GPT was a big thing, I stuck to Firefox. I still use it at home ❤

Firefox developer edition was always my goto. But yesterday was my last day because it is randomly unresponsive now out of nowhere. I can run it without it crashing or using all my ram. (all i did was actually close all my tabs which i guess just let it update)

I use opera gx and I’m very thankful for the ram limiter and customisation

edge : best for pdf view (seriously the best) also good for dev firefox: best overall for dev tools chrome : not real that d/f , just popular brave: the best for privacy tor : for those on the dark side opera : well oh well good old opera

Bro my mother works for the Swedish government and no joke they have internet explorer default set. I don’t know how.

I'm using Edge since January 2024, and it's better than chrome already. More features, copilot pro that help a lot, more stable, solid and less ram hungry. Also have cool features to use in smartphone. U can change the search default (that on my opinion doesn't have any difference since google search is being a mess)

I mainly use edge. I really like it

What generally bothers me about Firefox is its RAM usage/memory leaks. I swear, you look away one second and it eats 5 GB of RAM. I even installed a tool to display my computers RAM usage in the taskbar to spot unexpected numbers more quickly.

Firefox has always been my favorite…GOAT in my books!

I use Edge and Firefox. Both BETTER than Chrome. Don't @ me😂😂

Edge plays more media format than any browser because it's directly connected to windows media engine. Only reason I use it.

Edge feels so much faster than chrome on my computer

It depends. Do you run Windows? Edge is made specifically to run on Windows. I think Chris Titus or someone else tested multiple browsers on both Linux and Windows (10 or 11). The only browser that was slower on Linux was Edge.

It's GOATed for end users, but bad for web devs because it doesnt play nice with a lot of scripting functionality web devs will be working with. Ungoogled Chromium is the best for web devs though, imo.

I've been using Brave and Arc

Firefox is the only browser I know of that allows surround sound upmixing

I swapped Chrome to Edge as my home browser as Chrome stores TOO much of my personal information and I hate it. No regrets. Chrome I use only for development purposes.

@@karmatical5837 Gyus, gyus, wow wow you go to far! I'm not have a concerns someone stealing by browser hystory. Read more carefull i said EXPLICITLY "stores". It stores it on my PC. I don't want and not need that. I don't care if someone findout that I use xhamster when wife and kids no home, and looking on fun cats videos on youtube, all of us do it, targeting advertising is awesome sht and all of that. I just not want to keep it on my own PC. I need ALL MY MEMORY AND PROC POWER TO GAMING. If you want my data - make own server for it and do your math shit on it there or get laid solo, i'll just close your process because it affects my FPS.

opera gx is garbage spyware

chrome, safari, edge and Opera has the same webkit. In my opinion those are the same for standard uses. Instead of using a browser for standard uses you need a browser for development and debugging you should go for Edge

The legend has it that IE is still trying to be your default browser.
