The band is comprised of mostly veteran rock musicians. Mayu on vocals (best rock vocalist since Steven Tyler imo), Saki first lead guitar (right side) who has a long career and is recognized as one if the best guitarists from Japan (who, unfortunately left the band about a month ago), Hazuki on second lead guitar, Haraguchi-san on bass, and veteran session drummer Tamu Murata.

This was a Covid show for all-Female acts, hence no physical crowd. Nemophila are very versatile, try "Revive" MV, "Seize The Fate," "Zen" Live, and "Now I Here" live for a start. Congrats on discovering them!

*Nemophila Rabbit Hole:* Nemophila is an purple flower grown in United States. The band is a *"supergroup of women musicians* in Japan. The band sets up like this on stage. A. B C D E A) Tamu - drummer (who also plays guitar, saxophone, keyboards, sings, xylophone & bass) B) Hazuki - guitar (who is also in a band called KOIAI with prodigy guitarist Li-sa X) C) Haraguchi-san - bass D) Saki - guitarist (western famous known guitarist) E) Mayu - vocalist (who also plays keyboards & guitar) On March 31, 2024. Saki *(D)* left Nemophila (musical differences). Band has decided to go ahead as a four piece outfit. I saw a short video where lead vocalist Mayu was playing guitar (probably rhythm). Saki's old band *Mary's Blood* had one guitarist but toured with another regular guitarist who couldn't be a member of that band due to her contract teaching at a music school. Since that short clip. I have not seen nothing on Nemophila's progress since the departure of Saki. This bands covers were great. Especially during Covid. Like their *Banana Song* by The Minions. After Covid, their covers were good to lukewarm. Their original material is very good. *Odyssey, Life* & *Now I Here* .... are beautiful songs. *Hypnosis* & *Adabana* are highly recommended. But *Zen* will rip your face off. Worth a listen & of course there in Japanese.

I saw Nemophila live last year. It was the loudest concert I have ever been to. Tamu's kick drum will rearrange your internal organs lol. Saki, the guitarist who did the back bend, recently left the band, but they are continuing on for now as a four-piece. They can rip your face off and then drop a ballad that will have you crying like a baby. A top 5 band all-time for me.

Oh, guys you are going to love these girls, They have fused old school Metal with hundreds of different layers of rock. I would start with their live performances of: REVIVE, RAISE. SEIZE THE FATE, RAITEI. (They all have wonderful MVs, but my personal preference is live).

Nemophila is the best heavy metal band around right now. They only formed in 2019, so this show is very early on in their live performances. They quickly honed their live playing and their recent live videos are astounding. Also, during covid, they released numerous cover videos filmed in studio, and that helped them meld as a band. However, they really shine in their official music videos, which are very well produced. I would recommend several, Raitei, Revive, Adabana, Dissension (NOT the US version) for hard songs, Life and Oddesey for ballads, and Style and Hypnosis for something stylistically different and interesting.

Oiran was their first original song release, and their most recent live performance is astounding. The second is Raitei, which has an exceptional OMV. It is my favorite song and video.

This is my favourite Nemophila performance for first contact reactions. They have loads of other amazing lives and the MVs are good, but I just love the headbanging of this particular show the most. Nice reaction. So you are on the cusp of the full on Japanese mostly women, mostly metal / metalcore, rabbit hole. Suggestions below are mostly that. Emphasis on mostly, there are a few curve balls in here either because not metal, not women, not Japanese, but the vast majority are at least two of those things, most are all of them. You have run into Babymetal, Band-Maid, and Now Nemophila. I've seen them live twice in Southern Cal. They were fire. The overall Japanese metal/rock is incredible. So many immensly talented musicians there. If you like the 80's metal/rock vibe you need to check out Lovebites and Band-Maid.

There is a better version in terms of recording, because it is a livestream without an audience during the covid period. They are all excellent musicians. And nemophila is a very unique and diverse band, with various genres of music appearing in their catalog. I recommend《revive》live in US or《rise》live as the next!🤘🏻🌸🤘🏻

I saw Nemophila live in March of last year at a small Dallas venue. I took my daughter and granddaughter with me and we were very close to the stage. They put on a great show and although my daughter and granddaughter were skeptical before going, they both absolutely fell in love with the band. This was the second Nemophila music video I saw, so it wasn't my introduction to the band. The first music video I saw was their cover of Iron Maiden's Aces High. Iron Maiden has been my favorite metal band since 1982 when I discovered them while in college. Nemophila did such a great job with Aces High that I even got a little misty eyed at the end of the video. There are 5 all female bands in the world that I have spent my money to buy their music - Band-Maid (saw them live in October, 2022), Crypta (a Brazilian death metal band that I saw live this year), Lovebites (will see them live at ProgPower in September), Nemophila, and The Warning (still very bummed that I couldn't see them when they toured with Halestorm). Y'all really need to discover Lovebites. Meaning no disrespect to any band. Some have said that the Rock/Metal genre died in the US, or perhaps the West a while ago. Trust me as a longtime fan, it simply moved to Japan. The talent over there is simply unmatched (IMO) currently. I love Saki and Nemophila will be just fine. They have a number of shows coming up in Japan and time to work out Saki’s departure before they tour internationally again. ❤️🌸

Nemophila and HANABIE are my 2 favourite Japanese bands. I saw them play together in Japan last June. Best live concert I’ve seen. Both bands have great Screamo singers.

The new Nemophila sounds better.

Nemophila started out by covering older rock and metal songs, and later added more modern sounds. There are other Japanese bands that have always had a more contemporary sound, like Paledusk, Jiluka, and Hanabie.
