I was learning the trials and tribulations of puberty that year. It was a fun time to be alive and young. The kids today I doubt have a sense of togetherness and belonging. Frankly, I think they are weird but it's difficult to say being on the outside looking in. Today, if the song were released, it might trigger the young people. Perhaps the song is sexist, racist, homophobic, or Islamophobic in their eyes.

From New Zealand Good comment, but the past always looks better than it really was. In 1970 when this was released in NZ, our troops (not as many USA troops) were fighting alongside our American brothers in that tragic un-,winnable war in Vietnam. A war initiated and perpetuated by the military industrial complex (MIC) in chase of $$$$. Unfortunately 53 years later we have not progressed.
@joequillun7790
Жыл бұрын
@@peterfreeman1585 I agree with 1/2 of what you're sayin Pete. There is definitely people on many sides, making money on wars. But Laos, and South VN were not communist, like red China, and didn't wanna be. With the military advancements on our sides, I believe the war could've turned out in our favor, if someone allowed it to happen. Not sure who. Such a corrupt world.

Tony Burrows and Sunny Leslie turn a very good song into a spine tingling amazing song with this powerful yet restrained performance. They are two of the most undervalued and underrated singers the UK has produced, whereas lesser talents gained more success and prominence. It's clear they are both singing live and deliver a confident, measured and sincere performance with superb back up singers too. Thank goodness this wasn't wiped by the BBC as many were around this time and we can all still enjoy two singers showing their craft through the decades to us all today, thanks to KZread.

wow the vocals in this video track are even better than the studio version. Just superb. Created in 1969 by songwriter and record producer Tony Hiller, Brotherhood of Man was initially an umbrella title for a frequently-changing line-up of session singers. Early on, they scored a worldwide hit with the song "United We Stand". By 1973 the concept had run its course and Hiller formed a definite four-member line-up consisting of Martin Lee, Lee Sheriden, Nicky Stevens and Sandra Stevens. This version of the group went on to score many hits around the world in the mid to late 1970s including "Kiss Me Kiss Your Baby", "Angelo", "Oh Boy (The Mood I'm In)" and "Figaro". They achieved perhaps their biggest success in their native UK with three number one singles and four top twenty albums. The group under this line-up still continues today, performing shows throughout Europe. Altogether, they have released 16 studio albums, with worldwide record sales topping 15 million.

Tony Burrows and Sunny Leslie turn a very good song into a spine tingling amazing song with this powerful yet restrained performance. They are two of the most undervalued and underrated singers the UK has produced, whereas lesser talents gained more success and prominence. wow the vocals in this video track are even better than the studio version.
