It’s common among aquatic mammals. In North America, juvenile beavers help take care of younger siblings.

Beaver dens are perfect homes for river otters. They are nice and warm and dry. And the generous beaver have even made it so the ponds they create with their dens and dams fill with fish to feed the otters. Amazing the way nature provides for nature💛💛💛💛

I just noticed otters only have 4 nipples. So if they have more than 4 babies its hard to take care all of them. Lucky they have you, the human to care for 🥰🥰🥰

I agree w/the comments of others. TORORO is so sweet. The way he is continuing to imitate his mother and his aunt, as they take care of the little ones. I LOL as he watched, waited for an opportunity and then grabbed one of his siblings, trying to help the baby otter breastfeed. LOL. 😂 It’s also nice to see Odashi helping to take care of the babies. And sensitive like his mom too, as shown via his approach and reaction to his mom's babies in the first few videos - he cautiously approached the babies like Odashi did, and then hug, touch and care for them when his mom allowed him to.

@@ThatchNetherfold Otsuyu trusts Tororo MUCH more than she ever did her twin-tornado daughters… I think that shows, as neurotic as she can be, Otsuyu is not an idiot, and she understands her kids well 💕 It's the little things like this that help show just how intelligent otters are compared to other non-primates 👍

That's when mother steps in and kiss her cute baby and tell him everything is ok im always here for you

This otter species is very social and known for having very good memory -- Otsuyu isn't going to forget her older children nor they her -- even though he's huge now, Tororo is still Otsuyu's baby and they both show that 🥰
