Too busy for how simple the song really is. It actually makes the breaks more awkward because the drums are constantly stopping and starting.

You guys don't play drums so I get that you don't understand what's really going on and why it's so different , essentially Brooks is playing it half a beat slower then the original song so he's able to add all these little fills look at Mike portnoys version of it he plays it full speed and barley has any time for any fills what's so ever lol

@@FanaticDrummer I wouldn't go that far. The guy definitely has a ton of dynamic range, there's no disputing that. It has however changed alot. I think every fan has their own favorite "era" of avenged vocals, although I'll agree some of the later production choices especially have been questionable. Personally I think his cleans sound better right now than they have since the nightmare tours, but the screams have taken a backseat

Disagreed. Even though he was technically far more superior than his predecessors, he had the tendency to overdo it. Bobby Schayer was (in my opinion) a way better fit. Don't get me wrong, Brooks did a stellar job, i just thought it was a bit too much live.

that's just the echo and delay from the venue, in the audience it's not like that mostly due to the camera being behind the speaker system which are very directional

Brooks and Jimmy are both amazing drummers, but it’s futile to compare them. They have such different styles. Jimmy was a Metal drummer, Brooks is a Punk drummer. They’re both amazing at what they do

Great drumming by Brooks but he’s hardly being challenged compared to the stuff he was playing with Bad Religion and before that with Suicidal Tendencies but you can hear the marked difference in quality.

Ghost notes make certain grooves easier to keep in time. Tomas Jake does ghost notes in a ton of Meshuggah songs, you can’t hear them on record but you can see him doing it in live videos
