I love this bike, regardless of the saddle.

It's still not broken in because I haven't ridden much in the last couple months. I live in Texas and it's been over 100 for a little while now which takes away my drive to ride - also I've been busy with work. However, it's MUCH more slippery than my old plastic saddle it came with. I had to do a lot of adjustments tilting it forward and back to get it to a spot I felt like I wasn't slipping off. Continuing to break in will also help this a lot.

Not sure if you've reached the break in point yet, but when my B17 was new I hated it due to the slipperiness of the leather. I kept sliding forward which was putting weight on my hands and arms. If I tilted the nose up to compensate, I'd get too much pressure when riding with a lower body position. Well, the slipperiness does lessen as the saddle breaks in and when the two depressions begin to form in the top, it seems that further reduces the tendency for me to slide forward. So I've gradually tilted the saddle to a level position as the leather breaks in which reduces the crotch pressure. It's still not perfect for long rides of over, say, a couple hours; I think I need a cutout ultimately.

pgong Truth be told, even tho I made this video 2 years ago, I don't ride all that much, mostly shorter around town commutes here and there, and it's still slippery, although I'm glad to hear that it'll probably go away eventually.

+pgong Throw some Proofide on it. Your ass will get stickier. I mean the seat. Condition your saddle and it will love your bum.

I'm curious, how did you decide to get the B17 over the B17 Narrow ?

How long did it take you to break the saddle in? Did you put any oil on it?

To be honest, I don't even know if it's fully broken in yet. I don't ride on a really regular basis, so my usage isn't necessarily typical. If you ride daily or several time a week, I believe it should take a couple months.

Leather saddles always are uncomfortable when you first get them. Like many new products (especially leather ones), they require a break-in period. I have to admit - I've been riding very infrequently since getting this saddle and it's far from broken in.

And when you adjust the tension in case the leather sags, only turn the bolt slightly, tiny increments , or the leather can pull apart from the rivets, congratulations on your nice saddle, its motivated me to buy one too. Also did you use the proofide leather dressing on it ?
