Hey John I hope things are ok. We have been missing your videos. They really helped us getting started on our farm.

I built my first outdoor brooder this year. I made it like a rabbit hutch with a divider in the middle and a small door. On the left side I have a large piece of Plexiglas on the door, and two heat lamps on a thermostat control. On the right side, the door is made with 1/2" wire cloth and I have water cups, feeder and grit on this side. So far I have raised 31 Cornish cross, 6 egg layers and 8 turkeys in it, and it has worked out perfect. Still some changes I want to make to make it easier for me to use. But the chicks have all survived and seem very comfortable!

I am just trying meat birds for the first time this summer. I skipped the whole brooder and bedding stage by imprinting them on a broody hen. With this I was able to have them on pasture from the start. They're 18 days old now and thriving.

Hi, first let me say I love your videos and your respect for your animals, by the amount of care you give them. I have a question. It's not about brooding chickens, it's about BROILERS. I have 60 BROILERS and although they have continuous feed, clean water, comfortable living area, and they are very lively,. Its been 8 days and they do not seem to be getting any fatter. They are getting taller but not much fatter. The previous BROILERS I had , had fatten out really quickly. I have them on kalmbach 22% MEATBIRD feed. Can I give them something else to fatten them?

Yeah absolutely just give them grain and water and chickens will grow anywhere

Hello Mike, i love your videos, i really do but our prob here is supply of day old chicks. It's easier at the beginning of the year but by mid year it becomes extremely difficult and almost impossible to have day old chicks. From Cameroon. Can we partner?

Wheres john? Question : Studies indicate soy can be eliminated from tissue. Eggs etc after ten days of eliminating soy from diet, what do you think about cutting soy diet at 6 weeks then last two weeks feeding double priced non soy non gmo feed? Meat birds obvs. Thanks, get back to work

He sells them as organic, I would think not, but I don't know the regs.

Just wonderful, I've been looking for "chicken coop for 4 chickens" for a while now, and I think this has helped. Ever heard of - Machaaldity Coop Blaster - (should be on google have a look ) ? Ive heard some incredible things about it and my colleague got amazing success with it.
