“Bronx of Britain" - Moss Side, Manchester

Ойын-сауық

Manchester, a Gangster city from the early 1910's, notable for the worst gun culture in Europe's history. South Manchester's gangs became engaged in feuds with each other for the control of the drug trade. Shootings and murders increased in frequency in the area. This started attracting negative news and media headlines, with the nickname of 'Gunchester' being used to sum up this increase in gang, drugs and firearms activity.

Theres always one person who comments on any video about British gang culture claiming America is so much rougher, 1 difference in size 2 difference in population 3 firearms laws....... so tbh yeah America probably is more dangerous but who actually cares? its like childish playground antics my dad is harder than your dad lol grow up

So how is that something to be proud of? Truth is, you English people copy anything Americans do. The music, the accent, the attitude, the swag, everything. You wish you guys were American. This video was titled the "bronx" of "manchester", after all Get real "bruv"

sean mclellan I couldnt agree more. I couldn't be prouder to be from where I grew up, but unfortunately gun violence is definitely a part of life here, nothing to brag about let a couple of people you know get murdered than tell me how that feels, unless of course you are the type of of person that takes pride in such negative shit.

Don't know if it's what life was like in the 80's/90's or just the fact that I was a teenage boy but I was forever on the lookout for gangs of lads in Manchester. Some real nasty nihilistic scrotes around then: muggers, bullies, psychos who wouldn't think twice about throwing a brick at your head etc.

ANYWAY FANTASTIC PEOPLE AND GREAT BANTER.we would often drive around moss side in my mates car and buy some nice weed from the lads on the bikes.good days

Remember when organised crime in Moss Side turned pretty medieval, more and more people getting hacked with machetes (in addition to firearms) etc. Then the police pretty much banged up everyone who wasn't squeaky clean in the entire area. Crime plummeted after that but left a vacuum for other areas to take advantage of.. Salford, Cheetham Hill, even Scousers, Brummies & Southerners.

And the bookies in the prescent all the dealers hid the brown an rock in holes in the wall, when a buyer came in the dd would reach in the hole in wall an get what he wanted. Claremont rd was just one massive front line before Operation china pretty much closed it down where you got the best brown, white or weed for the cheapest prices. If people spoke to the police rather than allow drugs pushers and dealers to hide within the community then the young people wouldn't be being shot on the street. If you don't act like a community and don't fight to keep the crooks off the street, then you are allowing crooks to act as they wish. Don't blame the police for targeting everyone, if you don't tell them who the crooks are. The blood of these young men, is on the communities hands, they know who the drug dealers are, but they do nothing to bring these to men justice.

@Beeblebrox One I worked in the emergency services based in Moss for 30 years. I know more about threats, Fire bombs, being shot at and machete attacks. So don't give me that "You don't know" crap. If people spoke up, then the drug dealers would not have the hold over the area. The people of Ireland had enough of terrorists murders and stood up and stopped the violence. It's not just fear of dealers it's an institutional hatred of the Police. Well there is no one else to help you put these thugs away so wake up.
