Bronco Top Removal & How To Store Them in the Bag *Bronco Hardtop Tips

Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

In this video, Mrs ShockerRacing teaches you how to properly remove the T-Tops on a new Ford Bronco and how to place them in the storage bag. We found the process to be a little awkward the first few times we removed them and thought it would be helpful to share a few tips we figured out on our Bronco Badlands with MIC (Molded In Color Hardtop).

    Having her do the demo was an excellent idea, and very helpful. First, she is very personable. Second, it gave a real world perspective on the weight and difficulty. She could do it all and did, but the size was only an obstacle once, which she overcame. Any viewer can estimate their height and arm strength, and know their options. If it had been a big burly guy, we wouldn’t know if he could bench 150 or 350. Having shattered my left wrist last year, I lost 40% of my strength in that arm. Thanks to your video, I know what to expect and that I’ll need my son for the center panel, but I can do the fronts solo.

    the rear one usually removed because you have people to seat in the back. By default it means you have at least 2 people two help you (passenger and rear passenger).

    Great instructions. It might be easier to have a step ladder next to the bronco to lift the panels off. They're not heavy, just awkward when you have one hand inside and one hand outside the bars.

    Love the late models in the back ground! 😁 Thank you for this!! We have a 2 door but have fought and fought trying to figure out just the right fit for the bags and storage! Lol it’s been an interesting experience. Lol Our last Bronco was an 84 and we just didn’t care much because it wasn’t in great shape anyway! And my poor husband lifted it off on his back usually 🤣🤦‍♀️ We actually try to baby this new one. Lol

    Did Ford make two versions of the storage bag? The instructions show the bag opening completely (clamshell style) and only holding a single panel.

    @@shockerracing i’m interested in an interior packing/organizing system for road trips. Maybe containers that can be tied down with cord or bungee, something easy to get in and out. Also, I am a short woman age 68, so i need creative solutions for steps or running boards and some type of ladder to access top of car. A friend of mine talked me into getting the 2024 bronco black diamond edition and I have never driven a Jeep or a Bronco or anything like it. I plan to use it like a blind to observe wild birds and other creatures in their natural habitat using a spotting scope with the roof off. that’s why I found your video on t-top removal helpful.

    OK I am new here and I have decided to get a midsized SUV and it’s either gonna be a bronco or Wrangler I see you have both can you give me any advice on which one you prefer and why. I can tell you I’m now driving a 2 door Willys and a Lincoln navigator and I will be getting rid of both of them for one midsize and I am so torn yours are both beautiful!!

    Thanks Chris! Well, to be honest we have sold the Bronco and kept the Jeep so that might answer your question right there! 😜 but honestly what we love about the Jeeps is the ruggedness and the Jeep community. If you are looking for a more civilized every day driver the Bronco actually has better road characteristics due to the independent front suspension.

    Just curious to why you call these two panels “T-Tops” ? T-tops were something put in cars in the 1970’s and 1980’s.

  • @shockerracing

    @shockerracing

    Жыл бұрын

    That’s exactly why, I grew up with Camaros and Firebirds/Trans Ams that all had T-Tops. Jeep calls them Freedom Tops, but I’ve always been in the habit of calling them T-Tops or Targa Tops if it’s one piece like a Corvette.
