As someone who plays Frieza, Yamacha, Z Broly. You're actually pretty wrong here. Frieza with Yamacha and Z Broly A assist can basically spam anything from full as screen and manage to pick it up into a combo. If they're in the corner disc combos become easier to set up a range as well.

The level of attention to detail in this game is amazing. Even as Broly raises his hand for the grab, his hair is still moving. Only noticeable on slow motion but it's amazing they cared enough even to animate that.

They didn't animate it exactly. The game isn't created with sprites like old 2D games. The characters are modeled in full 3D and their moves are rendered in Unreal Engine. Then the image is flattened and frame sections are removed to mimic the jump-cut style of anime. Broly's hair is always moving as part of his character model.

Considering that UI and SSJ4 Gogeta exist, no, I wouldn't say they wished for too much, no. Also, it's Broly. He is stupidly on-point with his movie showcase (and some of his previous game appearances), in which he _actually_ has the best projectiles, and so much armor that none of the characters could touch him until Goku literally absorbed everyone's Meter + Sparks + Damage Ratio (that's _essentially_ how Broly's defeated). Like, this doesn't mean he isn't broken and this doesn't make it fair, but the reason fighting through that stuff every time I fight a Z-Broly doesn't bother is because... Yeah. _It's Broly._

Its because auto combo follows LMH rules like any magic series. Starting a combo with any characters second hit in auto combo can lead to sickening damage. For Broly it matters more because all his normals were scaled due to the armour. Only his auto combo had medium scaling.

Man, it's kinda crazy how Broly went from borderline unplayable/"useless" on release to being the bane of everyone's online matches. Also ArcSys Loves to buff already strong characters these past couple patches like wtf.

Yep DBS Broly needs buffs too, not just Z Bully. People bitch about our combos being long and super powerful but if it's Broly vs Broly that armor will always win out. Not to mention that DBS is the kinda character to get in people's face and murder them but a lot of his stuff doesn't frame trap you like DBZ. So DBZ Broly can shutdown DBS pretty hard even though I'd argue with less meter DBS hits harder and gets more mileage, it doesn't matter when DBZ Broly can build up and burn meter so fast that he can probably do more damage consistently. Not to mention he has among the most bullshit armor I have ever seen. That Ki Blast is some bullshit too.

That Gohan part got me. I don't even play the game but I come back for these videos. Love it dude.

OG broly wiped out an entire galaxy just because. And it was seriously the power of friendship that defeated him. Nothing else.

Broly is an amazing character both in game and out of it because there is no logic behind him, he is unknowable, unable to be comprehended, yet so powerful that the people who nay-say him have no choice but to bend to him, he is the embodiment of illogical evil. The Devs knew all of this and decided to make his character the most ridiculous vanquisher for that dickhead player that really wants to ruin your day.

What part of him is illogical? Him being strong? A lot of dragon ball characters are powerful with very little explanation. Where as it is clear why Broly is as strong as he is. His strength in super makes way less sense though

The embodiment of evil? He was a filler character with almost zero development. That's why he's "unknowable, unable to be comprehended". They were just too lazy to make a character so they just threw in someone strong. They didn't even expect him to become popular.

DBZ Broly, a big man with bigger grabs. Also the idea of him being GoD is terrifying. Edit: Also, amazing intro. Well done.

Don't know where I heard it from or even if it's true, but honestly it wouldn't surprise me if he did Edit: I think it mightve been based on how Super broly's power kept rising with his anger (albeit with limits), and I guess people assumed it was originally from z broly given how strong he was

@@aboogala4678 That would make sense given how he was still on par with Adult Gohan after having been trapped in ice for several years, though Gohan also had not trained so there is that. Really depends on if Gohan had his Potential Unleashed at this point or not because I don’t remember.

a few other things to mention about this character that i oh, so love: the first point on Broly's normals is actually fairly unexplored. his 5LLL Gatling is the same frames as base Goku, and in comparison a majority of the rest of his normals are only 1 -3 frames slower too. obviously 1 -3 frames can make the difference, but on top of having armour, his normals are all relatively safe. 5M and 5H are pretty negative, but 5M is -5 with absurd range, and 5L, 5LL, and 2L are all -2, which is absolutely insane for a grappler to have. another thing about 236S, on top of having armour and generally being a good special, is that its the framework for the most secure post level 3 Oki in the game. at the proper range, it can hit meaty on HKD wakeup, and allow Broly to be +19. it outranges / saves Broly from all frame 1 options in the game, baits spark by default, and forces the opponent to either make a mistake, or wakeup block. on top of being a great neutral tool. on top of being a great assist. other than these 2 points that i felt had to be mentioned, this is a really, really good guide to the man with green hair. keep it up Bagel, you're doing gods work.

as someone who has never played a proper fighting game ever, all of these numbers and letters confuse me more than algebra. I can only tell that L = Light, M = Medium and H = Heavy and thats it. I know nothing about L's, A's , S's or whatever wakeup is, but by god i still love seeing posts that makes me go 'what the fuck is any of this'

The editing is absolutely amazing

Can we just talk about how most of the grapplers are green? 16, z and s broly, and piccolo are all green or are know for having green as a key design choice.

Small note, it's hysterical to see that the Switch version, of all the console versions, has the overall least amount of Offline input lag.

when you think about it the actual power levels unique to characters canonically is kinda spot on. apart from krillin not getting demolished technically in one hit lol its been cool & seems like recent patches made characters a little more differentiated. hope it comes back w/ggpo

With all of the stuff behind Broly, I’m amazed as to how little play time he gets in tournaments. Like for real, someone on reddit calculated how many times characters were used in the December DBFZ World Championship tourney, and Broly only had 2 people from America use him. Even even when calculated on event hubs, dude isn’t even in the top 10 most used characters. Guess it doesn’t matter anymore, since everyone in their mother is gonna be abusing 21^2 and the Fusions.

@@dodojesus4529 21^2 just means the 2 Android 21’s. The 21^2 is a reference to how I had to input “21 squared” or “21 to the 2nd power” in those smart calculators during high school/college(least in the USA, I can’t speak outside of country).

God damn, your editing skills are really top tier. You could've skipped the opening skit, just given the knowledge, and the video still would have been great and informative. Just the best of both worlds.
