One thing I loved about og broly is that when he uses his powers he doesn't go out of control like the new broly, no he knows exactly what he's doing which makes him more terrifying because unlike dbs broly who was is just full on attacking making it easier to predict and counter him, dbz broly can figure you out in a fight and learn to counter you, the man literally dodged every hit goku and piccolo tried to throw at him for a bit while having his arms crossed and not moving an inch from where he landed.

With DBZ Broly and DBS Broly you basically have the Psychopath to the Berserker. One was a character with a condition he couldn't control and was used by those around him, and the other was the embodiment of pain and destruction, annihilating a planet without a second thought and taking nothing but pleasure in the suffering of his enemies. While ones backstory is significantly better than the others, I love both Brolys

New broly's story was to soft and he had no real character

besides the backstory OG broly was a straight demon in the DBZ movie universe. They should have made the evil concept cannon in the super movie, rather than a character forced to ascend to legendary status from his father's death. If they did, I swear he would have been an universal threat.

They want him in the later show so they try to make him a good character in super. Btw the OG Broly backstory actually make sense to me. The 2 Legendary Saiyan was born on the same day, one with the highest Power level in history and one with the lowest. Broly was woke up by Goku crying voice only to get stab through the heart right after so Goku kinda trigger his PTSD in the past.

It's the SUPER Broly movie, which is the FOURTH Broly movie that Akira Toriyama actually made himself. And don't even pretend like his writing for DBZ is by any means air tight. He has a total of TWO well written DBZ movies under his belt, and a whopping ZERO well written anime. Not consistently well written at least. Everything up to Namek's destruction is satisfactory at best, mmmmmmmmm at worst, but after that it goes south fast.

The thing about Broly walking up a Kamehameha is, Tien can do that by using a technique. But Broly (and Cooler) just ignored it. Broly just plain didn't bother doing anything except *keep walking forward!* Even Cooler probably had to hurry because it would have done at least a little bit of damage. Broly? He probably equated it to a kind of strong wind blowing through his greenish-golden hair. Would you consider watching the DBZA movie of Broly? I think they captured the true spirit of Broly, and as an aside, they captured the spirit of both sides of the Broly argument via Vegeta. On one hand, Broly is an unstoppable freight train of hatred and and anger, which is awesome! On the other, he's motivated by the crying of infant Kakarot, which is so, god-damned dumb! He has the one of the only two forms of Super Saiyan Goku has not, and likely will not, ever attain, which is badass! But, he literally went insane due to baby Goku crying, for like, three hours, which is so dumb! But no joke, DBZA Broly is hilarious, and yet they worked it into a sort of semi-canon status. If also suggest the rest of theovies because each one is amazing in a unique way. They even tie them all into a canon point in the timeline of Z! Easily the best ment of the Abridged Broly, though: Vegeta (the Abridged Final Flash theme begins playing): Excuse *you.* Broly (turning to Vegeta): Excuse *Broly?* Vegeta: You've been ignoring someone! Broly, confused: Broly's wife? Trunks, in considerable pain: Well, I *was* technically the one who killed Frieza. Broly (turned on): That's *hot!* Vegeta (angrily): No, you mouth breather! You've been ignoring *your king!* Broly, turning toward Vegeta: What is a king to *a god?* Vegeta: What is a GOD?! (Turns Super Saiyan as badass piano kicks in) *To a non-believer?!* (Starts powering up and screaming) Broly: (Grabs Vegeta by the face and plants him in a building wall) Do you believe *now?* Vegeta (powering down and speaking into Broly's hand): Uh-huh.

@@ashleyl9175 Be that as it may, his hatred is directed at Goku, not Vegeta or the former King Vegeta (King Vegeta dying would confer the title of king to his son). The king may have tried to kill him, but it was still Goku's crying that acted as the catalyst. As Abridged Vegeta laments: Broly is motivated by a crying infant. All that trauma being equated to something so insignificant instead of the act of being stabbed is why the fans of the original Broly are split. He's an unstoppable freight train of anger and hate, but he's only that dangerous because a baby in the pod next to him cried for a few hours (due to his power level being so low, it's possible baby Kakarot was in pain from the high gravity) and Broly never got over it.

In the second broly movie anyone remember that part were trunks pissed on broly cause he needed to use the bathroom 😅🤣

Regarding Vegeta getting one-shotted; DBZ Ki/Chi powers are tied intrinsically with a persons Willpower, and obviously there’s gonna be some inherent protection involved. Vegeta mustered up the will to fight, but OBVIOUSLY he still wasn’t at 100%, a part of him didn’t believe he/they could win. Lack of Willpower = Lowered Defenses/Endurance = Vegeta got 1-shotted while everyone else had taken multiple hits by that point. (Plus it looked like Broly’s armbar to Vegeta was WAY more powerful than the ones he’d hit Goku and Trunks with.)

As boring as Broly was, and how one sided the fights with him were in the movies (which I guess is the idea, because Legendary Super Saiyan), his fighting style and how he was almost untouchable was pretty awesome.

Now, the backstory for DBZ Broly isn't really that fleshed out but here's my little head canon interpretation of it: Broly and Kakarot were born on the same day and saiyans keep their young in the nursery most of the beginning of their lives, so the only thing timid little baby Broly ever heard was Kakarot wailing and crying as the caretakers laughed at him, the kid probably hardly slept AND Kakarot crying was the very last thing he heard before being picked up by his tail and stabbed, right after that he was forced to use his overflowing power way to early in life for pure survival instinct to stay alive He had to grow up with this over the edge power already at it's peak, his mental state was like that of a psychopath, he could do whatever he wanted and finally silence those screams he's heard since his first day alive, he wanted everyone to feel pain like he felt his last day on Vegeta, he wanted everything to finally be quiet
