I was raised in the church. Served a mission. Got married in the temple and have got two little boys. After almost 10 years of marriage and about two years ago I was left by my wife. I've been through the most difficult time of my life and I really thought I wouldn't be able to survive this. It still very hard, but I made a decision to trust in God like never before and watch him mend my broken life and make me happy again. I trust the lord and beg his help. Life throws you lemons, I went through similar and made some tasty lemonade. Trials are not the end. There is always hope. Keep on keeping on the path. That is all that was ever asked of us.

Ah brother, but your exaltation still remains. You kept your part of the bargain even though she did not, endure to the end is all that remains but be patient a bit longer and through God's grace and mercy he'll make up the difference in the end. Fear not, you're doing just fine, God the Father and his Son are still proud of you, and the armies of heaven still have your back, DON'T give up, you're almost there.

I’m an LDS and a recovering alcoholic. This man gives me the inspiration I need to stay sober one day at a time.

I’m right there with you. Most of the time it’s one day at a time. During those stressful times when it becomes one hour or one minute at a time, remember that He is right next to you, encouraging you to succeed in staying sober. Together, you can do it! ❤🙏

Beautiful Observation, Salanoa

I stumbled across this accidentally. Having a really rough day of a very personal nature, and once I listened to this talk, I knew it was no accident that I stumbled into it. I feel 100 times better. I feel strengthened physically and spiritually. I received healing to a broken heart and an answer to a prayer. My heart is smiling once again. I am so grateful for our living prophet and the 12 apostles who truly are led by God to help us return back to him.

Lds.org can answer questions, for you. I know God speaks, though prophets, today. If you get on the site, they can send you a free Book of Mormon. It contains Gods dealings with people, in ancient America, and is scripture. It testifies of the divinity and Lordship of Christ. We use the bible, as well.

I was feeling very down and distraught, and I came upon this talk. So empowering and beautiful!

I write this as tears stream down my cheeks as I feel my Savior's love for me through this remarkable and amazing apostle. This talk came to me as an immediate and direct answer to prayer. I am very poor in spirit because there is so much turmoil and unrest in the world right now as we face a global pandemic and rioting and looting in many cities across the United States. I am so grateful for the guiding light in this darkening world from godly men such as Elder Holland. His words affirmed to me that there is indeed a God in heaven who looks over his children and attempts to their individual needs. Our Savior Jesus Christ truly does know how to succor us.

I have been broken for years by a toxic marriage that caused me to be inactive for so many years...The last few days I have had a stirring within my heart to change my life. I came across this today and I know through my faith that has never wavered I can move through this and change my life....With the love of my Heavenly Father and my Savior I can triumph through anything.

"Please don't give up" very strong words and uplifting message

There is nothing more distressing to a parent than seeing a child no matter the age in the clutches of addiction.. it takes the hearts of those who have to witness this and breaks it in half.. trying to love them and still having to set boundaries so they don’t take you in with them is the greatest struggle I have ever had to go through.. this burden sometimes is so hard to bear and I think that I can’t do it one more day.. As yet I’m still trying to let go and give this to the Savior.. I’m really not sure how.. this has been years and years of watching this and praying daily yet seeing no progress or answers to those pleads.. I love Elder Holland and his uplifting talks

Since returning from my mission 4 years ago I’ve have been feeling super empty no matter what I do. When I was attending the temple regularly, reading my scriptures daily, and praying constantly I still fell hallow and incomplete. I’m not giving up but I feel I’m almost out of hope. People like Elder Holland are always a good uplifter.

The BigTooNa I don’t know why at times things fell easier to understand or see about God s plan and other times it’s just a detachment sooo real that’s is confusing and scary I know what you mean I can only tell you to not give up keep trying keep looking for those you can serve keep moving keep going forward in faith Sometimes it’s just a trial of our faith I tell you this because that’s what I need to hear and do for myself

Sometimes the waves wash over us and it seems like we are only being pushed back, but we are making progress none the less, and eventually when the waves and the winds cease, we find ourselves lying on the wet sand, spent but safe at last. Then we stand up and we notice the One Set of Footprints in the sand.

A GREAT AND REASURING MESSAGE OF HOPE FOR THE ABANDONED, FOR THE HOPELESS AND FOR THE DISCONSOLATE.

I was looking for Conference talks that talked about healing the poor in heart and having happiness, I found this, and I had tears falling from my face when he talked about the Savior, and how he walked through ALL our troubles.

I love you Elder Holland, Thank You. I truly needed to hear this. I sit here tears streaming & I know our Savior lives & I am so glad He does!

Elder Holland helped me so much, I'm still working on fixing myself and my family, but I needed to reach out to him that day

I needed to hear this. My fiancée and I have been missing each other greatly. We are waiting for the travel restrictions to be lifted in her country so that we can be together again and to be married in the Temple. Times have been difficult with us missing each other. Heavenly Father has told us we will be together again. I hope it is soon. 🙏🙏

want to thank my father in heaven for knowing me & while listening to this beautiful talk, answered my soul!! We do have to dig deep at times & reach as much as we can, then our sweet Savior waiting for us has his is always extended, shows love & mercy to our hearts souls, even the broken ones!!! stay strong!!!!! smile, & trust the Lord!

Much of my life for the last decade or so has gone very poorly. Mostly due to my own decisions and actions. Nevertheless, every single time I have turned to The Lord, He has been there forgiving my sins and using my failures to teach me valuable lessons and to grow spiritually. Now, I don't suggest that making a mess of one's life is a wise way to grow. But I do know that God will use anything to help the willing -- the poor in heart.

I am in the lowest part of my life and this talk has given me comfort and peace.

I loved this. I never thought I'd be one to recieve it, since when it was first spoken I was not poor in heart. This time I was. The Spirit helped me feel mended enough to stand up (if I were a chair.) Elder Holland is so Loving. I love it. You see it in his countenance every time. He helps increase love.

As I was reading a lot of comments about how grateful they are hearing Elder Holland's talk here and I too am filled with hope. That feeling, our feelings upon hearing this, I believe, comes from our Heavenly Father. He leads us here to give us strength as we face our difficulties because He loves us.

As a divorcée at 29, with one child, alone. I can say that broken hearts do mend. Best thing ever was my divorce because I got to meet the real person I supposed to be married to. Now I see that hardship often leads you to where you are supposed to be, with the most growth that you just can’t imagine, and often in better company.

It’s cool how the spirit touches our hearts in comforting us. When we feel the spirit through a man, that means they are speaking the will of the Father. Prophets and Apostles really do speak by the spirit-the spirit of God. Isn’t it amazing how God still sows his love for us?

I know that when the Savior says come unto me, He knows the way in and out for He has walked it. Powerful statement for me thank you. I have been through the most difficult time ever of my life these past two years up to this time of 2019, I have been thinking that I would not be able to survive the depression I’ve been in. It is still very difficult but as a follower of Jesus Christ, I have decided to put all my trust and believe in Him who has walked the path to mend my life and I know that Jesus Christ my Savior is busy at work in me. I feel much better especially this week, I feel alive and I thank my Heavenly Father for when I was looking for a comforting talk, I stumbled onto President Holland’s healing talk. I love Elder Holland so much and I love his testimony of the true healer, the Savior, Jesus Christ! There is profound wisdom found in his words that testifies of Christ and of His call for us to follow Him, no matter where we are at in life. Jesus Christ truly loves each and every one of us and I am so very grateful for Him and His ultimate sacrifice so that I may become clean and live with Him forever! I know that these words are true and testify of the power and reality of Jesus Christ and His healing power and grace!
