Broken Knuckles Full Episode - Ep 1- Bare Knuckle Boxing

Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

We don't just make Repo Man shows. This clip is taken from a documentary we made called Broken Knuckles that is currently on Amazon Prime. We filmed a number of Bare Knuckle Boxers (BKB fighters) over a course of 6 months. Broken Knuckles gives you some insight on why these Bare Knuckle Boxers (BKB fighters) do what they do. You get to see their partners and family take on it. What pushes them to fight and more importantly what makes them tick.

Jesus u legends. Matt , fair play he did amazingly, just kept popping the jab out!! I feel blessed I didn't have the kind of hardships these guys faced. I'm forever fascinated by the guts and determination of anyone who gets into the ring, cage, field or wherever to battle it out fairly and shake hands after. Respectamondo.

They know what they are doing. His eye looked fine from the outside but he had lost most of his vision on one side, making him vulnerable to more damage on that side including potential permanent blindness. Nobody wants that, good call from the ref. And he acknowledged his defeat respectfully, recognized Glasgow man as the better fighter that day.

fascinating , you see these bare knuckle boxers get in the ring and they always look wild with their tattoos and usually daft haircut and you can just imagine the stuff that goes on in their life, they are definitely different than boxers and MMA fighters, boxers seem way more refined and civilised. Showing all the characters like the wee Scottish mum in her council house and the dad still stuck in the 60s makes for a brilliant documentary

Love this documentary. But all due respect for these men, I think the sympathic scaffolder is completely wrong. The gloves in boxing are not for protection of the enemy. They protect your fists so that you can hit much harder, especially when it comes to blows to the head. So the danger of permenanet brain damage is way higher than in BKB.

That is absolutely correct. Professional boxers his so hard that without gloves, they would crush their knuckles against the skull of the opponent, the hardest target on the human body. That said, it´s probably that bare knuckle fighters endure more pain: Those sharp knuckles full force on your mouth, you eye sockets, your ribs. Respect to both disciplines and respect for the sportsmanship of two men who are willing to give everything to compete in one-on-one sports without a racket or a ball, do everything within the rules to beat the crap out of each other and as soon as the bell goes or the referee calls it, shake hands, show each other respect and in the old days, even go out for a pint afterwards.

Schmelz, I think you’re wrong. Boxers wear gloves not to protect hands or other fighter. Bikers wear gloves so the fight won’t be over in seconds. If boxers didn’t wear gloves, fights would be over too quick and paying spectators wouldn’t pay anymore to watch the fight.

The gloves protect you a bit from cuts and broken noses, broken cheek bones etc but they definitely don’t protect you from brain damage

Fear not the man who practices a thousand kicks once, but the man who practices one kick a thousand times. Matt's approach was incredible. He was focused, professional, well balanced at all times, and never missed an opportunity to react. He's an interesting character, and a great bloke. All balls and no malice which is fantastic. But to have done damage like that with a jab is insane, Matt must have either incredible power or incredible timing because it's not easy to do damage like that especially with a jab literally the weakest punch.
