    For such random and improvised content (I mean it as a compliment) nothing better than a jazz tune to go with it. Very nice Brendon. 👍🎹 Regarding the circles you and your mate kept doing on that parking lot, I remember when me and few other fellow bikers took a trip to Uruguay. In one of the stops for lunch already on the Uruguayan soil half of us had the meal finished and the other half did not. The ones who had finished started to feel the itch to go back to the road (me among them). So as we spotted a large roundabout next to the restaurant we had no doubt, we just hopped on our bikes and started to "circumnavigate" it several times while the others were finishing their lunches. It happened at the entrance of a small village and some of their citzens stopped to watch the "show" of those mad bikers (five of us) circling that roundabout at low speeds for few minutes. It was very funny and, best of all, the police did not appeared to spoil our party. I have a feeling that they (the policemen) would not enjoy our little romp as the local "audience" did. Anyway, I just wanted to share with you this little memory (of a fun day on the road) ignited for your maneuvers on that parking lot. All the best from Brazil. ✌

    Thanks for this video. It is great to see where ever you can ride about especially this time of year. I live in Canada, it was warmed up to -10 degrees but with the Wind Chill it feels like -22 in the sun. There used to be ice and snow on the streets so my brother kept resides in our living room until spring. I have a 2018 Royal Enfield Classic 500, much like Daisy Bell. My bike replies to Ricochet.

    I have the same bike, a 2013 model Bullet 500, but I broke my "LEG" and am still recovering. Never ever use the front brakes of this bike, it just locks up the front wheel. Another trick is to tune the oil mixture screw on the carburetor 6 - 1/2 turn to be precise to get the 40 NM torque and 28 BHP power .. Number of turns depends on the available oxygen and altitude over sea level. Start the engine and wait for it to warm up. Race a little and leave it running for 5-10 minutes adjust the proper idle RPM using the idle screw. Now close it till the engine stops. Open to about 3 turns. Start the bike and keep opening till just about the idle rpm starts to increase. Close 1/2 turn at this point. The idea of this screw is that the rider can change the mixture depending on the altitude as it is all manual no ECU fuel injection.

    Haven't locked up my front brake on this bike yet thankfully, but I am quite ginger with it, definitely feels like you could lock it up easily enough! Mine's an EFI version, but sounds like you've got a pretty good trick for the carburetted version!

    Gotta say yes on the occasional casual video my man 👍. Gotta question about checking your oil. My understanding is these 500s are a bit finicky as far as oil level accuracy. Best method I've found is to run them on the center stand for a few minutes then shut her off n let it sit for a couple minutes while still on the center stand to get an accurate oil level. I've noticed it's a huge difference from putting them on the center stand straight from sitting on the kickstand? Just curious if you or anyone else use this method. 😏🍻

    Thanks John, think I'll continue to slap the camera on while I take rides out on Daisy... might be some time as we've got a cold spell here in Ireland at the moment! 🥶 I used to use that method for Daisy's oil level, but unfortunately my current place I live in doesn't have level ground, it's all sloped 😅 Next time I'm back at my parent's I'll do it again though to get an accurate level. 👍

    I use Motul 20w50 full synthetic in my 2013 B5 Bullet. The first time I changed the oil and filter, something weird happened. I was used to wet sump Japanese bikes. I filled it up to the top of the sight glass, started it up and let it idle for several minutes, and shut it off. The oil level came back up to the top of the sight glass. I let it sit in the garage overnight, and the next day checked the oil level before going for a ride. There was no oil in the sight glass. I poured more oil in, till it reached the top of the sight glass, went for a ride, came back home and parked it. This time the oil level stayed put. Next oil change, it did the same thing. I measured how much oil it took to bring it back up to full, and just started adding that much more when I changed the oil. I change my oil and filter every 2000 miles. I have just over 22,000 miles on it so far, with no engine problems. The problem is in the speedometer itself. Hitchcocks has new ones, but of course they start at zero, so you need to write down what was on the old one, if that matters to you.

  • @BulletWanderer

    @BulletWanderer

    6 ай бұрын

    If there is something in particular I could critique about the Bullet, its that it can be deceptive with the sight glass. There's just so many nooks and crannies where the oil likes to hide when its sat on the kickstand. Especially for me when I park the Bullet I lean a left hand turn on the way in before stopping, so all the oil 'hides' in that part of the engine when its not circulating... When doing the oil change I think I stick to about 2.3 litres? Have it written down in a book somewhere 😂 She's probably coming up on needing an oil change soon enough anyways. I might indeed consider getting a new one from Hitchcocks 🤔Could be a refreshing look for 2024! 😎

    On my 2020 bullet, I find it to be 150ml between the two oil lines. Filling to the bottom line, then adding 150ml lubes her right where she likes it. A 2 stroke measuring funnel and a bit of aluminum foil keeps the engine casing clean. Any overfill burns off rather quickly (IMHO). If you're not familiar with MotoJitsu channel - they have a create series of low-speed practice drills. So important!!! I need to order the sticker you have on your battery cover - it adds interest to the most uninteresting part on the bike!

    Quite the lovely little cruise there. I find the low-speed handling of the Bullet isn't as precise as a bike with more refined brakes and clutch. My RT (Fritz) has the magnificent Brembo brakes and hydraulic clutch that make surgically precise control rather easy, with proper rider technique. I try to do a quick set of figure 8's often as I return home from work to keep the low-speed skills in tune. Just watch the motor cops during their competitions and it becomes very evident how tightly these bikes can actually turn. But then if they dump them, it's not THEIR BIKES getting scuffed up! We bang up Daisy or Oddball or Fritz, and we're not gonna be at all happy about it. No sir.

    Cheers Brian! I definitely don't go anywhere near the front brake on the Bullet during slow speed manoeuvres, but once I get my barings with it, I find it quite controllable with just clutch and a little rear brake! Take that with a pinch of salt though, as I've only ridden about 6 different motorcycles, 3 of those being Royal Enfields, and one of those being from the 1940s 😂. I've seen those motor cops on massive police bikes, really impressive how they can swing it around like its nothing! Dad's on an RT too, but not sure he'd let me try my hand at low riding on it 😂

I rode a police model HD Electra Glide for a long time and those bikes are remarkably nimble but most other aspects of performance are sorely lacking. I'm done with 900 pound motorcycles. The RT is big but not nearly as heavy and handles like a dream. Oddball is in another class entirely; cannot properly define the fun factor of that bike, it just makes me grin every time.
