Broke My Radiator Riding Hard! - $25 DIY Shroud To Run Cooler
Last weekend while my buddy @tobias.harrington blessed me with some Canon R3 footage riding my 2023 Kawasaki ninja zx6r stunt bike at the lot I pierced a hole in my radiator. I made a vlog testing out the hero 12 repairing the radiator as well as creating a homemade shroud that usually costs a ton of money. The results are insanely successful for a $25 sheet of .032 5052 aluminum, does your bike overheat? #diy #repairs #stuntriding

For coolant I run a mixture of 75% distilled water, 20%, concentrated coolant and 5% red line water wetter always worked for me. Another great video my guy 💪🏽

You could add a couple sprayers on a button switch to spray the radiator with water

Wrap your pipes ,manifold and pipe (till the pipe rises)your head will be at 82 and the manifold 195 ,the higher temperature in the pipes draw nasty hotness away from the head,....facts ✊💎👍

Just so you know you must have a slight space between the rad and the shroud to pull air through the radiator to the fan instead of only through the fan area

Thanks! It works great so far, I think the imperfections give it enough spacing naturally

Yo man I ride a 21 zx6r on track and I changed the coolant from 50/50 to 75/25 water/coolant + redline water wetter..that helped keep overall temp down but also changed the fan/fan mount to a hold a bigger fan. The stock one is insufficient, especially when stunting and you don't have a lot of ram air flowing across it. 🤘 probably don't need a bigger fan for track since always moving..but I ride that shit hard on the street too. Anyway just my experience

Most stunt riders swap to dual Panasonic r6 fans

@Dankwheelie ahh ok makes sense. As a career automotive mechanic I can tell you I have had luck with 1 single larger fan than 2 smaller ones. Sometimes space limits you so I get that..just figure the cfm of both those r6 fans vs a larger single fan and you got the best solution short of running no thermostat lol
