I think your spot on with the harness. Oil gets into those connectors and cause multiple issues and the insulation on the wiring being gone is a good sign that that harness is done for.

Also check that wire on the apu alternator. the last time it was giving the same codes it was that wire on the apu. I'm thinking your electrical problem isn't where you think it is.

The oil contamination will travel the length of the wire all the way to the ECM (brain box), so you might want to check the ECM connection for contamination too. The oil will have metal wear particles in it and some contain graphite, both are conductive. There should be a bulletin from MAC on this type of problem, maybe you can check with them on that?

I had the same issue happened to me in Salt Lake City a few months ago. It was telling me number four injector was bad and possibly a bad injector harness. My Freightliner has two injector harnesses under the valve cover. Mechanic told me to go ahead and change the harness and see if that fix the problem. But what I opted to do Was change the injector on both harnesses at the same time because I didn’t want to have to go into the motor twice. My truck has been running better ever since. I am a firm believer that the injector harness does go bad overtime with heat cycles and being exposed to the engine oil.

In my 20 years of trucking. I went through 3 trucks. 64 Autocar 85 KW W900B 96 KW T800 Every time I changed trucks, after a week, I would be screaming to myself, why didn't I do this sooner. You need to pull each injector connection one at a time to relieve your mind of the one short. Put in the new harness. There is no cash value in a dead truck to sell. I know I'm late to the armchair advice party. But look at the hurdles you accomplished on the last breakdown. This harness has to be a no-brainer now. Just do it🙂

ROBERT AND LITA are such hard workers and such nice people...... How come we all don't pull together and donate or gift him $5 bucks a person, some would do more, like myself, so we can help him buy a new tractor! With 33K subscribers, that would be over $150,000.00! Plenty enough to help him get a new tractor for Lita and himself! Let's do it guys! If you set it up Robert, alot of us will donate! You guys deserve it!!! If those perverts on only fans can generate thousands quickly then why can't we do this for our friends as well???

Simple thing to do to figure out which way to go would be to add up all the maintenance and repairs you had to do in the year and compare that to new truck payment or leasing like Penske trucks. If you continuously spend that money to repair the Mack then your missing out on paying off a newer truck quickly or leasing a truck with maintenance included.

You have a good point there but you are forgetting that once truck is fixed then maintenance/repair costs should decrease considerably🤔

@@rodkennedy9800 The older and more miles the maintenance keeps going up. They're at the point on this truck that all the accessories have basically reached their end of life, and will slowly start to need replacing. That's the issue with any used truck, it's why the mega fleets dump their trucks after 500k+ miles.

@@spencers4121 Exactly my point, Robert has replaced many of the accessories etc so that cost should decrease significantly. Don’t forget he is negating labour costs but I take your point.
