There must always be some play on drive belts…too tight leads to bearing failure. More expensive inconvenience!!! Belt more than likely squeals due to coolant spraying/leaking onto it from defective pipe on radiator. I would recommend replacing belt when you replace radiator and spray pulleys with drive belt restorer or brake cleaner to remove coolant residue. Best of luck 😃

Tacoma pickup; could not get belt to stop squeaking. "Gatorback" belt solved the problem. Not sure there's one available for that, but having breaks in the ridges on the belt allows moisture to escape and, I guess, makes up for slight misalignment between the pulleys. No more squeaking.

If the only time the belt squeals is when the compressor clutch locks up I’d say the compressor needs to possibly be replaced. Shouldn’t squeal when the alternator is charging because it’s actually charging all the time while running. Check AC compressor 🤘🏼

Get a slow cooker, mount it to a piece of plywood with a bungee strap so it doesn’t fall over and start cooking when you start the day. That way 4-6-8 hours later you have a slow cooked roast or prime rib or even corned beef. Or even a beef or some sort of STEW.. ((I haven’t done this in a while but it has been done before))

I always try to find parking where I can walk the dogs straight back along the trailer to grass. Unfortunately, some truckstops are surrounded by high weeds and not mowed grass. Guess their mowers can't handle all the trash piles. Speaking about trash, why is it that shippers will refuse a trailer with trash left in it when the same facility on the receiving side will leave the trailer full of crap??? They have forms to check off about the condition of the trailer before they will accept it. Seems like we should be able to do the same...

Serpentine belts are worn out long before they crack. Advance auto parts has a free tool that measures the ribs and lets you know when it's worn. I can tell usually just by looking at them. The gap between the ribs wears and no matter how much ua tighten it it won't stop. Just buy a belt. Rock auto sells BANDO belts. You would have to cross reference it to them but they are the best belts and they have em for 10 bucks or less

19:20- That's what happens when a load is put on the belt. The alternator is loading the mechanical system and it's causing the belt to slip. That's the squeal. Now your job is to find out if that load is 'normal' or if it's not. The alternator itself can have problems (bearings) that can cause an undue load on the belt or something else, like the compressor (you mentioned that, I didn't know there was a compressor in that unit). Anyway, a heavy electrical load, where there's much current being drawn from the alternator instantaneously on startup can cause it to mechanically "stall" under and make the belt squeal until the belt grabs and spins the alternator to the point that it reaches equilibrium by charging the batteries (if they're very low) or simply is at a point where it can share the load. Low batteries can cause a surge of current from an alternator causing the belt to slip. Maybe you should have them checked?
