Ethan seems to have such a sweet relationship with Brittany. For two weeks before this show, he kept saying how excited he was to have her back on because he knew it would just be a fun time with someone whose company he genuinely enjoys. Him saying that she feels like a part of the family to him was such a sweet moment because that's how we feel about her too. And she's only been on one other episode! It's just really great to see awesome people find each other and instantly click like that. Hope to see more of them together in the future!

@@XhumpersX I’d hardly put HAES and Antivax in the same boat. You’re right, there’s of ton of misinfo around nutrition on social media. Some of the misconceptions being that the only way to be healthy is to be thin, or that weight and size can indicate someone’s health- they can’t. What the dietitian said to Brittany is so important to fixing someone’s relationship with food. All foods fit. Food is food. But for people who have struggled with their relationship with food all their lives (and I used to be in that boat as well), we don’t see food as just food, and that relationship needs to be addressed to solve the bigger problem. There’s no reason for them to feel guilt, shame, or disappointment for eating pizza and McDonalds for a meal. Protein, calcium, vitamin D, some B vitamins are just some of the nutrients they’re nourishing themselves with from this meal, not to mention a big one- energy. Would it be beneficial to their goals to eat this for every meal? No. But all food does have nourishment. And people in larger bodies can be healthy!!

@@melissalogan8953 An obese person can be healthy the same way someone who smokes a pack a day can be healthy. Technically its possible, its just statistically very unlikely, especially once someone reaches their 30s and 40s. Statistically, a non-smoking person with morbid obesity (a BMI over 40 e.g. 5 foot 5 240lbs) has an average life expectancy of 7 years lower on average for females, and 9 years lower for males. BMI is not deterministic of health in the sense that like the pack a day smoker that somehow makes it to 90 you could be the 1 in 10 million, but thats incredibly unlikely and its irresponsible to use that logic because the mass majority of people will not be that lucky.

@@XhumpersX Thank you for laying out MO to a dietitian😂 I understand what you’re saying and there is some truth to it, but I don’t think you’re having an open mind to what I’m saying. Saying weight is not a determinant of health in the same way a smoker can live to 90 is off base. Risks for certain diseases can be increased in bigger people (look up WHR), yes, but it does not automatically mean they are unhealthy. I’m not saying every size IS automatically healthy, but you CAN be healthy at *most* sizes. There are skinny people, who most people will automatically assume are healthy, that smoke packs every day, never exercise, and never touch a vegetable in their life. Skinny people can still develop high cholesterol, T2 diabetes, etc. These skinny people may also live to 90 as you suggested, but I’d hardly classify life expectancy on its own as a marker of health either. On the flip side there are individuals who are considered MO, but have perfect labs, get their 150 minutes of activity per week, and eat well-balanced meals. They’re not statistic anomalies. Weight/size and most disease states like HTN, high chol, and T2DM are influenced by genetics just as much as lifestyle (not certain on the exact percentages there, but they’re both strong factors). I’m not super familiar with the HAES movement’s principles, but I’d imagine part of it is that you can *become* healthy at any size. A MO obese individual may not be healthy at one point, but just a few lifestyle changes can dramatically alter their overall health. For example, losing 7% body weight and increasing physical activity to 150 minutes/week over 6 months-1 year can dramatically reduce risk of developing diabetes and increases cardiovascular health. That person is still going to be considered MO or class 2 obese with only 7% weight loss depending where they started from, but that BMI classification or the size of their body doesn’t automatically mean they’re unhealthy. With those changes I’d argue they are healthy. Health and weight have many influences and determining factors, and one does not determine the other, the same way you can’t tell someone’s mental health just by looking at them.
