The most American thing that happened in this video was Josh realizing he could dip everything in cheese. Real talk though - as a Texan, Jolly trying American food has actually given me more appreciation for it. I went out for barbecue last night and after watching them visit the south I enjoyed it a lot more than usual. Thank y’all for being so positive!

As an American, this actually does give me appreciation for our food. I think we all grew up thinking the only "American" foods were burgers and McDonald's. But in reality, we have barbecue, fried chicken, chili, biscuits and gravy, hot dogs, pies, coleslaw, etc. Yeah they're not always the HEALTHIEST options, but they're OUR options. And I've never felt that way before these Jolly videos.

I think that the fault here is that... The most advertised/shown foods are the mass produced, deep fried, soulless foods like burgers and such (not saying that there are no good ones)... The regional foods like southern cuisine are so undersold and unknown, that it is a revelation even to people who literally live in the USA...

@@ScullCandy56but it isn't. It basically can't be. Our country was founded so long after so many others, and the people who came here arrived from other places, so it's all just mixing and influences from different cultures and locations. Cajun food mixes everything from French, to west African, to Italian, German, and Spanish, and likely more. And THAT is the beauty of it. What makes it American is that it is a mix of all of those things, because that's the whole fucking idea of America.

Just headed to Westfield to do shopping, and after had lunch in Prairie Fire on the back of this episode, and loved it!! Would recommend the Hot Carolina highly (and the sprouts and bacon!!) - and there's also a nice selection of craft beers (not like the stuff that Ollie had in his hat...) to sink your food with. Seems to be too few people in there for such good food though so would suggest you get your bums down to Westfield and try it (probably sounds like an ad on my part, but hey-ho - Prairie Fires is good, the food is great, they deserve a fair crack of the whip in these current hard times, so let's give them a nudge ).

Yes, it IS so good! But you don’t have to wait for super bowl Sunday to eat like that. In Texas any excuse is a good excuse to party and eat. Y’all come on over, we’ll celebrate your arrival! Btw, I’m here in Texas. You’re still welcome. Have a great weekend!

THESE are the exact swooning reactions that made me become a professional chef 18 years ago! This was TOO satisfying to watch... 🔥😆 And... The chef one-offing a custom roasted sprouts in bacon and lemon (a signature dish in my restaurant) just to screw with these guys that got them yearning! Now THAT'S a real chef! "Give me any ingredient, and I'll show you my art." Bravo. THIS right here, is why casual foodies become real chefs.

I say this is true for anyone who cooks, professional or otherwise. I'm no chef, just a home cook but I DO love it when people say they loved what I made be it the main entree or dessert, it just nice to hear, when someone says "that was so good" or "can I have the recipe for such and such" 🍗🍖🥩🍔🍣🥧
