The most American thing that happened in this video was Josh realizing he could dip everything in cheese. Real talk though - as a Texan, Jolly trying American food has actually given me more appreciation for it. As an American, this actually does give me appreciation for our food. I think we all grew up thinking the only "American" foods were burgers and McDonald's. But in reality, we have barbecue, fried chicken, chili, biscuits and gravy, hot dogs, pies, coleslaw, etc. Yeah they're not always the HEALTHIEST options, but they're OUR options. And I've never felt that way before these Jolly videos.
@ChaosMind10531

I think that the fault here is that... The most advertised/shown foods are the mass produced, deep fried, soulless foods like burgers and such (not saying that there are no good ones)... The regional foods like southern cuisine are so undersold and unknown, that it is a revelation even to people who literally live in the USA...

@@ScullCandy56but it isn't. It basically can't be. Our country was founded so long after so many others, and the people who came here arrived from other places, so it's all just mixing and influences from different cultures and locations. Cajun food mixes everything from French, to west African, to Italian, German, and Spanish, and likely more. And THAT is the beauty of it. The best ribs fall off the bone. You have to cook them low and slow. Nice and tender.
@Loj84
Жыл бұрын
@@e-man1138 It's somewhat of a personal preference thing, but most professional pitmasters consider fall-off-the-bone ribs to just be overcooked. And of course they cook them low and slow, they just pull them off the smoker at a slightly lower internal temperature than you would for fall-off-the-bone ribs.
The food looks great. Love your videos. ~Helen from Tennessee, USA
Kansas City native here, if you go: Best Brisket and chicken wings: Q39, pair your meal with an Old Fashioned Best Lunch BBQ: Joe's Z-Man (Texas Toast) Fun afterhours: The Green Lady Lounge (Jazz club with fantastic mixed drinks) Tom's Town: (Distillery that makes great Gin) Boulevard Brewing Company (Beer company that gives tours, get a Tank 7) Attractions: WW1 Museum - seriously cooler than it sounds Nelson-Atkins Art Museum Our BBQ uses vinegar based sauces so they're typically more tart than what you'd get in Texas. Come in the Fall, consider doing a Hot Air Balloon ride over the City when the leaves are falling. If you enjoy it - don't let anyone know so we can keep the housing costs down 😅
As an American, you guys are making me happy! Love that you've found some proper examples of American cuisine.
Alright guys this is 100% a improvement from the last time😂😂 when Ollie said “how do they watch the game” just know the food menu is just as important as the game!💀 You have to have the basics chicken, some form of meat smoked or however , a cheese dip, hot dog, ham burgers, Jambalaya, pasta, etc. That’s why we start eating hours before the game starts ! COME TO LOUISIANA we will show you a good time 😂❤️

I love that with literally everything they taste they always say that it’s one of the best things that they have ever tasted. Doesn’t matter if it’s an 8 pound burger or an 1000 pound kingcrab with lobster sauce and caviar. These guys find a way to say it’s the most flavorful and tastiest thing ever.
I legitimately don't think I've ever been to a Superbowl party and not bad 7 layer dip. That is an absolute MUST for SB parties. That stuff is incredible too, I eat like you guys did every single time lol. Eyes rolling back in my head and all.
That was fucking hilarious how Michael trolled Josh with the Brussel Sprouts dish 😂🤣 also anything Ollie says or does just pure comedy GOLD 🤣

I drooled for 12 minutes and 39 seconds😂😂 It genuinely looked like they enjoyed every single bite. They devoured the food and it made me so hungryyyy lol
Super Bowl snacks are on a whole another level. JOLLY never fails to impress us with what they have to offer. They’re simply the best at what they do.

Y'all have to go to New Orleans. That place is world famous for its unique cajun cuisine. You could fly into New Orleans and work your way across the Gulf Coast and see all sorts of great southern/cajun foods. You have to try etouffe, gumbo (hundreds of recipes and combinations), and a muffaletta.

Native New Orleanian here. The étouffée and the gumbo are actually Creole, as is jambalaya, although Cajuns do jambalaya right, too. Would also have to try bananas foster @ Brennan's Restaurant and the UNBELIEVABLY FABULOUS roasted corn grits at Zea's Rotisserie (not to mention their Thai ribs) and, of course, a crawfish boil in just about anyone's backyard as well as traditional red beans and rice (also Creole). Also, stop by the bar @ the Fairmont Hotel for a Ramos Gin Fizz (possibly an acquired taste) and a Hurricane cocktail @ Pat O'Briens. Oh yeah! And a king cake and "Kajun Kringle" ("pee-can" praline flavored pastry of pure decadent deliciousness!) from Haydel's Bakery! God, I miss NOLA food!

The chef one-offing a custom roasted sprouts in bacon and lemon (a signature dish in my restaurant) just to screw with these guys that got them yearning! Now THAT'S a real chef!
