To write an anti suicide / depression song at the age of 9 is already unbelievable. Aurora has also experienced a lot in her short life to date. If the massacre in Norway tells you what? A racist gunman killed 78 people, including many children with guns and bombs. Aurora knew one of them. "Little boy in the grass" is dedicated to the bereaved families of the victims and written for them. She also wrote another song for a friend who died in a car accident. She sang this song at his funeral and never again. "Why did you have to go" So the girl has experiences with loss and death. And yet, or because of that, she is the epitome of joy.

Absolutely breathtaking! Not only did she sound phenomenal, but the lyrics themselves were powerful. As a parent to a daughter who suffers from depression, anxiety and has over 100 'marks' on her skin, this really hits home. Outstanding, really. (I'll take one of those pillows!)

I would agree this was her most perfect performance. The song renews my soul as I am sure many others have experienced. The setting, the orchestra, the choir and the brilliant film crew all captured the majesty of the moment. I would like you to watch Little Boy in the Grass Mahogany Session for your reaction to another exceptionally beautiful performance.

The choir is Oslo Fagottkor "The choir's name literally means Oslo Bassoon Choir, a word-play on the similarity between the Norwegian word "fagott" (which means "bassoon") and the English slang term "faggot". The choir gives two regular concerts series every year, one in the summer usually held at the Chat Noir theatre and one at Christmas held usually at the Lilleborg Church in Oslo".. The Steinmeier organ is one of Europes largest with 9600 pipes built in 1930. Good reaction.. thumb up..

Nidarosdomen consert was very special! The Norwegian broadcaster NRK wanted to record this to their xmas programs. So NRK cooperated with Aurora and her band, Trondheim Solistene (strings), Oslo Fagottkor (choir) and Nidarosdomen (organ) to make this a uniq consert. NRK i fantastic to get this to world class production.

Love her cover of that! I'm American....but from the age of 6 to 9 or so my family lived in France, and so a number of formative moments for me are distinctly European...and watching The Snowman every year during Christmas was a big one. But in America? Hardly anyone's even heard of the movie. That song lives in my subconscious forever. So when I realized Aurora was doing that song the first time I watched the Nidarosdomen concert I literally said out loud, "You've got to be kidding....seriously? Is she trying to make me love her more than I already do!?"

Yes, meshmerizing. What I thought as I watched this magical concert was that Aurora was very aware of what an honor it was to perform in this beautiful cathedral and she treated the occasion with the utmost respect. I've seen her in small clubs and radio stations and she's very different. She'll get relaxed and engaged with the crowd and much zaniness can ensue. That's fun, but hardly appropriate for this setting. This showed just how good she can be when she takes it seriously. Brings you to tears, really. Well, I will miss spotlight on Aurora month, so who have you got for May? Bill Haley and the Comets? The Bay City Rollers? (AKA, the band that never got paid), Mojo Nixon and Skid Roper? Not Daft Punk, I don't want to spend a whole month throwing up. Whatever, On to May!

I hope you can find the time to watch and enjoy it.

Hmm… I have heard many say that it’s sounds celtic. Aurora is from the west coast ( Norway is devided by huge mountain range that splits the cultures and dialects in east and west. Back in history the rule was that mountain divided and the sea brought together. So the Island in the North Sea was closer than east part of Norway. And I feel that it’s a big difference even to day. Anyway Aurora is formidable❤️👏

Hi BP1 and BP2, this song is her way of suicide prevention. A masterpiece. And you have to consider that she started writing this song when she was 9 years old. What child at that age thinks about this topic? And creates such a song as a result? AURORA's voice is great and works phenomenal in the cathedral. Unfortunately, AURORA had to deal with the deaths of close friends at a very young age. She has found her way of coping - the music. There are also two very sad songs by AURORA. - Why did you have to go - kzread.info/dash/bejne/ZaJhxq-xkqzXeqQ.html She wrote it for a friend from school who died in a car accident when she was 18. She only sang the song at the funeral. But the sound was recorded and the girl's mother is said to have published it on KZread. They have chosen good pictures and films for the video. AURORA didn't actually want to release it. I'm sure you've rarely heard anything so sad. - Little boy in the grass - kzread.info/dash/bejne/Y5-duJlpZLHKj6w.html This is about the terrorist attack in Oslo and on the island of Utøya on July 22, 2011. An assassin killed 8 people in Oslo. Two hours later he shot 69 young people on the island. It was a Labor Party youth camp. It took 90 minutes. A friend of AURORA was among the victims. I assume that these early experiences characterised AURORA and contributed to the initially very sad songs. Have a nice day and Greetings from Germany

They are really good, and the singer/songwriter is named Ingrid Helene Håvik. Song: “Samurai Swords” acoustic version And: “Someone Who’ll Get It” Official video
