I think for the ARMY'S that love this song, It's the spaces that make it special. The song is about loneliness, and those choices really emote that.

Not sure how you missed so much of the nuance and emotion in the performance, absolute juggernaut of a song that pounds your heart to dust!

This was an early one...the more they sang this song, the more emotion they put in it...every time they sang this song it was that more emotional. I think they portrayed this song perfectly. JK’s harmonies in this song really take it to another level.

Oh no I think Albert may have missed jinkook’s gorgeous harmonies near the beginning😭😭 I have to agree with the other comments, I think as they kept performing this, they added more dynamics. It’s still a beautiful song, definitely had me tearing up the first time I heard it, and I don’t cry easily😂

You know, the first time I heard this song was at a BTS concert and it really stuck in my head and became a favorite. For me, if there were more harmonies I think you would lose the emptiness of the emotions and lyrics, if that makes sense. Because then they aren't alone. Though from a musical standpoint I could see where there would be more opportunity to add more harmonies and layer those voices for fullness. (I say this, not having any musical background.)

So... just like a pause in the music in order to make the next phrase more impactful or the drop feel heavier... having a solo voice right before all four come in with powerful harmonies is what they were going for... and accomplished. I find it amusing/sad that you started talking about how you wished their were more harmonies OVER the very part where they LITERALLY all harmonized. Nothing like not being overly impressed with a song when you talk over the climax.

I came to find a comment about how they were harmonising as he was talking but he didn't notice! I also feel like the sound quality wasn't great but maybe because the mic was picking up the speakers?

I understand about the comment on dynamics and share the yearning on some BTS songs. This particularly was resonant in the earlier part of my journey into the group's discography. I realized later on that I connect easier and heighten my experience when I let go of my expectations and just marinate in the moment. Not sure if I am making sense but it is the best I could do. BTS is very purposive and deliberate with their music and wouldn't discount the possibility that the why's they do their performances is lost on me. So I now come to enjoy and be moved by the art. Just as I come here to get your take and appreciate your views, your time and all this channel's art. Thank you as always and 💜.

This is definitely an earlier performance of the song. As the tour goes on, they tend to add more to songs because they understand how it can be improved. The song is very simple, with a build up at the end.

Tae’s voice snatched my soul here and made me want to know his name... that’s how I fell in the rabbit hole...

I would love you guys to react more to Jungkook. He is the main vocalist of BTS. He just has the best versatile voice. & his voice is the most stable and consistent while performing. I thought the same too but the song is constructed in a way to go with the lyrics and story. I used to have a similar opinion with him about other songs he heard from BTS but when you see the lyrics you get why they use certain tones or styles in certain moments of the song.

React to BTS Rain, Hold Me Tight, and Let Me Know. If you’re looking for songs with more dynamics. In regards to this reaction of The Truth Untold I appreciate your honesty. Not a lot of reactors will be this upfront with their opinion. But I do agree with the other comments if this song in particular was filled with harmonies it’ll lose some of its characteristics of loneliness. That’s why they used harmonies in certain parts of the song. But in other performances they added more dynamics and were still able to depict loneliness. But to me it felt like a different type of loneliness. If I were to describe the difference it felt more like a longing for something they couldn’t obtain. I hope I’m making sense.

*Sorry to say, but there was literally no value whatsoever in spending my time watching this video. It was non content and the title is 100% clickbait. I fear most people are just too polite to be honest and/or scared to be labeled toxic for telling the truth. I JUST got this channel recommended by KZread and I'm glad there is the option to never recommend a channel again. I watched someone hold a tablet for 5 minutes that made the impression on me that they really couldn't care less about music (e.g. not even reading the lyrics (Understanding a song and portraying the emotion and meaning to your listeners is literally a vocalists job!), expecting that everything is overproduced noise etc). All in all just dissapointing spam content.*

You say you didn't connect, but it's hard to connect to something you talked over and admitted you weren't reading the translation for. This song is incredibly meaningful, yes, but you won't get that if you aren't paying attention. I am generally pretty patient with these kinds of videos, but this was frustrating.

It's not about whether I like a reaction or not, the opinion expressed may be understandable, but I don't think the attitude is okay. I cannot see straight face here, but rather feel the expression as "coming down from above". Is just my opinion.

No hate here. For anyone. 🤔 No one would "sing it better". Nor would they try. They would sing it from their perspective, from their heart, which would change it. They would sing it in their unique way. There is nothing wrong with that. Everyone is entitled to their opinions. Humanity is so creative and diverse BECAUSE we see things differently. Feel things differently. Music is art. Art is subjective. Opinions are subjective, so are reactions. How you react to something, how you "see" it is coloured by your own life history. No one has the EXACT same life history as you. Even in your own family, because we are each unique. We can agree to disagree without hatred or arrogance. That is in our power. There is no shame in seeing a different viewpoint. I personally connect with this song because of my life history. My husband doesn't feel the same way, and that is fine. That doesn't diminish how I connect with it. I respect all those with gifts. Which means everyone, as we all have gifts. Sparkly, shiny ones, quiet soothing ones, dark and powerful ones. You don't have to connect with them all, but don't belittle them either. Value people for who they are. So someone might see that they are worth valuing. I apologize for this rambling on so much. I really don't want any more hate being spread because of such a small point. BTS are a group of incredibly talented young men. Their songs are created out of their life histories. None of us will truly understand the reasons for every decision made while writing each song. Not every person will connect with every song. But with 7 of them sharing their gifts and their expansive discography, there is likely at least 1 song that can connect with everyone. That is the true gift they give us. Much love for all. Oh man this is def not the best live of this song :/ sad day … your bias comes off pretty strong from a lot of the choices… it’s just a critique bc I get it lol we all have them… and if you’re giving a real chance for ppl to react to them… just choosing performances to highlight your bias… well is bias lol just an outside take but still love the love for each of our young men here

I actually fully agree with you, even if the lyrics are beautiful and there's a purpose to willingly leave those empty spaces as in a way to truly show loneliness, I still feel like that wasn't exactly necessary. BTS is amazing at showing emotions when singing so I personally don't think adding more dynamic and layers would've taken the emotion away at all. But at the same time I feel like some of it was from nerves too, if I'm not wrong it was their first time singing this song on the tour and in latter concerts there are fancams of them actually doing amazing high notes and harmonization together, making the song seems fuller in a way. Plus the lack of instruments be it bc was a live performance or simply bc we aren't able to properly hear them, also makes the song seem empty. But again, this is my completely unprofessional opinion since I have no musical background and knowledge whatsoever.
