Great update thanks
I refer to my comments when this channel carried out a review of the "Upcoming Auction". Had that 911 been a Model 993 you could have added between £40,000 - £50,000 to that selling price. As it is, it's only worth half the price of a basic Fiesta or Fiat X19 18 or 16 years its junior. It was even beaten by a 50 year old none running rot box Land Rover!!

@@00kirbyd It has nothing to do with Air Cooled v Water Cooled. The reason they are cheap is that the M96/7 engines in the 996 & 997.1 models suffer from well known issues: IMS Bearing failure & Bore Scoring both require a total engine rebuild costing £10K from a reputable specialist. Bore Scoring you can live with for a time but IMS Bearing failure can happen suddenly meaning you can't use the car unless & until you sort the rebuild.

@@garysimpson3900 For clarity on 996 reliability, I'd speak to a Porsche specialist before believing keyboard warrior scaremongering that's plastered across the internet. The IMS bearing issue is way over exaggerated and that's a fact. The 993s are in a lot of demand, correct as the last air cooled 911s, but what I'm saying is people like me don't care for watercooled vs aircooled comparisons. You've either got a hard on for an aircooled or you haven't. The 996 is fantastic value for money and do your homework and find a well serviced one, you should be fine. I'd always trust a specialist's opinion over a journalist's review that hasn't owned one. The run of the mill stuff achieving more than quality cars like this makes your realise how good 911 fans have got it.
