@@aldozilli1293be fair, there are a lots of people of all different nationalities who do the same in Spain, complaining and saying what is better in their country wherever that country is. Best way to settle into a new country is not to constantly compare it to your own. There isn't a perfect country, just what you are used to.

I´m a Primary School teacher myself in Spain but my kid attends a British School. I don´t know if that is the best thing to do, but the problem is I don´t trust the Spanish Educational Law. It has been used for too long as a political tool. Every party changes the law every time they get into the government. The law is "ideal", "perfect", "inclusive", "modern" full of good wishes but with any funds to make it real. Teachers struggle trying to attend all the students needs, but having 25 students per classroom, students with special needs, lots of bureaucracy work to do and just one person to carry on with all that seems undoable to me. We will see how this end, but so far, we prefer the British system.

It's interesting to see that the Spanish school is more similar to the Norwegian in that it's more laid back and less rules, than the British.

@@Rose-bd9dt I didn't say the school system in general was similar. @@user-gd8dv2sk8i you can find a similarity somewhere in practically any two things you compare but, honestly, please don't go around telling people that they are similar, it is extremely misleading. It is way more advanced than in Spain, and, if you really insist on comparing, it is more similar to the British system in the actual teaching focus and skills it promotes. I would hate anyone to think the schooling in Norway is similar to in Spain.

Hey, a Spaniard here. Since Spain is not centralised, everything changes a lot. I for example didn’t have to pay for any of the books until i started bachillerato, we borrowed them and then gave them back at the end of the year. Also, my primary school started at 9 and ended at 2, no break in between. My schools didn’t serve lunch 😢, we had a small cafe in my secondary school (not primary) in case we wanted to buy a toast, but that was it I guess everything is different depending on where you are in Spain

I was a language assistant in England for a year and I've been an English teacher for 3 years in Madrid ... I might be biased, but I truly believe that the English education system is better IN THEORY, as at the end of the day the kids did not learn much either - although that's just what I witnessed and thus merely a personal experience. The theory is GREAT, but putting it into practice is exceptionally hard, specially for the teachers. I didn't stay or try getting my QTS because I found the amount of hours teachers worked for such low wages and poor recognition unbelievable, so ... Props to you girl! You're doing amazing

Patricia, it's unfair to critique our Spanish Educational Curriculum, given that each autonomous community has tailored it to their specific circumstances. As a civil servant, you'd likely be aware that the curriculum boasts "freedom" in determining the hours allocated to certain subjects. However, in reality, there are significant differences from Andalucía to Madrid/Pais Vasco and other regions...

A 3 year old toddler going to "school" seems odd. I guess he better grow Big Cohones early to survive Bullies. Otherwise it is a big shock to see them for the first time at 7 years. I doubt you can learn a lengua at school. All typical teachers do is drill grammar rules, a new handwriting, and usually not speak the language because they can't. A uniform would give less chances for them to laugh at my bad clothes. But I guess they could ruin the singular uniform and cause big trouble, and I wouldn't have enough money to replace it. I like formal jackets on girls. I wish politicians would wear something like that. Those libras get destroyed stuffed into a backpack. Or they get ruined by classmates. And then you have to answer about their condition if they are state owned.
