@@warprecautions631 Well all the food was silver service, and you got allocated your own numbered silver plate napkin ring and napkin at the start of each course. In the grounds were the various prototype fallout shelters as per Domestic Nuclear Shelters, so you could see them in practice, likewise the same for protect and survive expedient shelters. I used to love the exercises, I was medical officer on one, accommodation officer on another, plus various other roles dealing with naptonshire, great fun, really enjoyed it, I still have all my course materials and photos from the time, so ask away!

@@gpsgroup1242 Interesting that you enjoyed doing the exercises, where you ever worried about the possibility of having to act out the real thing if things did get hot? I can imagine you had to discuss some grim topics, especially as medical officer, surrounding casualties and the aftermath of a nuclear attack. I've seen the photographs of the DNS prototype shelters from the college, I'm very jealous that you were actually there and saw it all in action. Did any of them look suitable in protection against fall-out? Do you still have access to the war books, copies of DNS and protect and survive ect?

@@warprecautions631 The expedient shelters would have provided basic protection, types 3 and 4 the prefab and the concrete ones were good

@@warprecautions631 Yes you did think about the real things but to be honest, it was all rather exciting and I enjoyed it considerably!
