Thanks to everyone for listening. To say again, yes I have a self sustained neck injury from 2015. I’m currently trying to fix the problem but every test I’ve had so far has come back inconclusive with no sign of any problem. In the meantime just try and enjoy the tones as my neck doesn’t hurt....I just can’t move it :D

i figured you had an injury. its not the first time ive seen that. i had back issues from being in a helicopter and i had days where couldnt stand up. my neck was also fucked up pretty bad from having night vision attached to the front of my helmet with no rear counter weight. those injuries suck man. have you thought about seeing a chiropractor?

Dude McGuybro I’ve had 2 MRI scans and both have shown nothing for muscular or spinal issues. Only hurts when I jolt it, which I don’t do!

This is the tone I hear when I'm playing guitar in my mind.

This sounds absolutely incredible. The overdrive is both really saturated, and pointy, at the same time it's got girth and body, while it's articulate and clear. Really hard to nail that combination and they've done it.

Probably the most accurate representation on this platform of how the Soldano amp sounds and feels “in room” even though it’s mic’d up. Most videos I have seen on KZread sound muddy or super flabby, never capturing its true sound. I just got the 100 version and it does feel like a mule hitting you in the chest at volume 1.5. Amazing amp, your 30 sounds just as good, great playing. Cheers 🍻

I always say that soldano is a combination or a plexi amp mixed together with a recto metal amp. Before my favourite tones was a metal amp and a Marshall, park.or plexi amp mixed. You get the perfect comb. But with soldano you got both there. And for lead. Maybe the best amp ever

The Mesa recto is a straight rip off of the SLO preamp. So the recto is a SLO with not as great of a power section

@colebertram8482 one thing I forgot to mention, is how well it sits in a mix. With other amps I've tried, I've had to quad track in order for the guitars to sound massive. The soldano sounds massive and punchy with just double tracks, and even single tracks. In a mix, it is the most amazing amp I've ever worked with

Just wanted to say great job on this and all your videos. I was looking at the last couple amp demos that popped up in my feed and the general sound just really hit me in all of them. Guessing the magic part is just a real mic and cab, good preamp, good compressor, and walla - it sounds like you think it should, or at least closer to what you feel you hear in the room. So whatever you are doing, keep doing that.

Great review!! Most reviews of this amp are all chug, which I don't do... but I did go ahead and buy the combo amp version so we'll see how it works for me in the coming weeks as I learn to dial it in, etc.

This is a must have. I owned a Soldano Hot Rod 100 ten years ago and it was stellar. I always wanted the SLO100. This might be the best compromise!

They sound killer in a mix. Slice through like a knife through butter. The midrange on this amp is fine tuned for cutting through.

Soldano are awesome amps no doubt 1 of my favorite amps

The bright switch does not affect the lead channel. It only affects the normal channel.

Monster loud amps. All SLO amps have this push loud sounds that are so epic. Having a good 100watt Fryette Powerstation with one is great.

Would love to see some reamps with this in the mix. Same with driftwood purple nightmare and the synergy Uberschall module.

Excellent tone. I am on the fence with this SLO 30 vs Fortin Cali. Both seem versatile. Not sure which way to go. But this SLO 30 sure sounds like a beast! 🤘

The Soldano SLO 100 has always been my dream amp, this has got to be the end all be all for me. But yeah, $2700 is a lot for me, but I’ve gotta do it

My brother had the pleasure of trying his friend's Soldano SLO100 years ago, and I recently asked him if that tone stands up to the plethora of amazing modern amps we have today. He simply said "I know it's easy to think it's a dated amp, but you just need to plug into one and you'll never be the same". Extremely bold claim I know, but I would LOVE to try a legendary SLO model (or even a Hot Rod and Avenger) one day.

I'd like to buy one of those little 30W 💥

Ive been kicking this amp around in my head for 2 years now for my lifetime amp. The cost though. You may have made the 1st video that has pushed me over the edge to buy one. Nowhere here i can try one before buying.

Sounds epic John Browne. Your playing is outstanding as you know. I just took delivery of the Deizel VH2. i'v seen countless videos were it sounds so great but after a week I just cannot get it to respond with anything but nasty tones. Ch. one is sterling & takes pedals nicely but CH2 is a buzz & only sounds decent with certain guitars. I'm going to return the Deizel & get the SLO-100 its $1000 more in price vs. the VH2, but at my age I simply cannot settle. I'm pretty sure the SLO 30 doesn't have enough clean headroom for me. ( I have the Mesa MarkV 90 watt)

Everybody keeps telling me to check out this amp. All the demos have been decent, but this one really has me intrigued. The amp sounds so much less fizzled than in any other.

Let the scan begin for a used Soldano SLO 30!!!

Put a tung sol preamp tube in that Marshall valve state head before your demo video it makes a world of difference.

It would be nice to see a comparison of the Soldano vs the JetCity models (as from what I understand were also designed by Soldano as SLO clones).

I know this is almost a year old but I have had a 35W Peavey Vypyr for 13-14 years. In all that time I have literally never gone past even 1.5 on the volume (about 8 o'clock). Not to mention it goes all the way to 13. Currently running it at .75 and turned the output down on the pedal going in the front. If I don't it is uncomfortably loud even under volume lvl 1!

Browne! Sounding killer man! I've noticed it seems like you are partial to that C-bomb/cold sweat combo. I have a copy of a soldano amp hotone nano legacy captain sunset 5 watts the size of a Boss pedal fx loop 3 band eq awesome sounding distortion they have copies of a lot of amps Mesa Boogie many others

I had a SLO100 for around 15 years, awesome amp, but it was unbelievably loud. Still have my X88r preamp, though. Wouldn't mind a 30w SLO, hmmm...

Some of those cleans need to be on an acoustic. The chordal work was very nice! 🤘
