British Highschoolers AMAZED by Korea's Traditional Royal Feast!!

Комедия

Today we have our first of our small group episodes with the High School boys. As amazing as it has been being able to film traveling around Korea with all 7 of them together and the teachers as well, at different points in the trip we wanted an opportunity to get to know them each a little better and tailor one video to what we thought each of the boys would want to do!
And for Armand and Max it felt perfect to go to a Hanok, see some traditional Korean architecture while trying on some Hanbok (traditional Korean dress), and try one of the best fancy, traditional Korean spreads of food that we could find!!

They are truly blessed to have each other coming from different backgrounds Max from the U.S and Armand´s parents from France. Befriending and going to school together since year 5 in the UK. Not to mention being gifted this enormously generous, beautiful cultural experience TOGETHER. Truly a unique and remarkable brotherhood between Armand and Max.

I loooove how real the Ajumma was when talking to the boys. Telling them to be still, and why they're giggling. I love it, because she's treating them like her own. I adore how Armond and Max totally tried their best to be gentleman, and its hard to stay still with their highschool energy. I know the lady could come off rude to some, but the shop lady probably really want the clothing of the Korean culture to be seen and respected since millions of people will watch this video. She also wanted to make sure everything was put on properly. Now for the food, I really am jealous because I didn't try having thus type of meal before leaving the country. When I try visiting again, I shall try.

Coz even if not Korean, if done in my country or specific ethnic grp helping tourists wear traditional clothing, some of my fellows will think its too much to hit a customer or tell them off for something like giggling But to the OP, its true that it could be something homely to have them focus on the clothing or question why theyre laughing (some tourist tend to make fun of cultural clothes so often giggling is misunderstood, esp with the language barrier)---its good that it's still positive atmosphere with how Max and esp Armand doesnt take it to heart.

I'm so glad that Max was able to experience Korean culture in the way he was hoping for. Although he is a funny young man, it was apparent he was being serious when he confided that he was looking forward to the culture the most. It might have been hurtful or frustrating when others assumed he was making a joke. I'm glad that Josh and Ollie recognized that he wss being genuine and were able to give him and Armand a meaningful moment together. The two of them have such a deep friendship. These experiences are life changing; perspective altering. Josh and Ollie really have touched so many lives. How impactful it is to uplift these kids and encourage them to try new things. Throughout all the filming for the past year, there's always this feeling that they cherished the time spent together, and now I know why. My favorite moments are when the boys have a big wave of gratitude for what Josh and Ollie have brought to their lives. Can see Josh trying to minimize the emotional moment so he doesn't get choked up himself. I see how much it means Josh, and I know it's hard to live in those praise moments, but be a good lad and just let it soak in for a heartbeat or two. Not every second of filming has to have words in it. Sweet silence can sometimes convey more...

In the second half of the video, there was a heart-warming conversation. I hope all these students make a lot of good memories in Korea and go home and tell their families about their experiences in Korea. It was great to see these lovely young students grow up for a year!

All of the boys have said how much they've appreciated all of the experiences, but Armand was so articulate, it brought tears to my eyes. Then listening to Ollie really making sure they knew how much all of the high schoolers have meant to them was great too. I really like the backstories of how they met. I'm hoping we can hear the others tell how they became friends and what all of their plans are for the upcoming year. (I think we heard Armand is going to Cambridge?) This was a great episode. I know, it's very refreshing how they are willing to try everything. It's rare, most of my friends during high school would drown white rice in soy sauce or dump sugar into the complimentary tea at a restaurant. As an adult, I still encounter people like that but they tend to be people who have little exposure to other cultures. I still remember an adult friend/co-worker tell me to my face about what she thought about Chinese soup being just water (slow cooked broth ) and why dishes are usually covered in thick sauce which she thought was unpalatable. I kept my mouth shut, she is still a friend and is a nice person otherwise but while I am happy to try her traditional Indian cooking, I will never invite her to restaurants of other cultures because I worry she will be rude about the food.

16:38 Absolutely loved this little bit at the end where we got to see Max and Armand just run the show on their own, they were absolutely hilarious 😂Ollie's heartfelt message was also very moving 🧡

That conversation made me tear up and wish I could hug all of you through the screen. How sweet and wholeome. It’s been great to see how much the boys have grown and witness them experience another culture like this

I was anticipating how long it would take before one the boys said they wouldn't mind living in Korea. They all are so open to new experiences that I could see each one of them doing a study abroad program during university. Hopefully Josh and Ollie with keep up with them through the upcoming years and see if any of them actually make a move to study in Korea. That for sure could be a whole new series.

With so many things going on in this world, you guys have shown that if we’re given the change to get to know one another and get immerse into different cultures, with time, we learn to love and accept one another. Please don’t stop doing the series. So happy to have found this channel ❤

I love that you filmed separate episodes that catered to the boys' interests. It allows you to showcase more of Korea, while also personalizing a part of the trip for them! Ollie's speech was so unexpected, but so heartfelt.

Could you do an episode with Max and Ollie attending a beginners Korean lesson class? Let's have Max extra-immerse in Korean culture...

Armand is very articulate when it comes to food. It's like I can taste the food by listening to him describe the taste.

This is the most meaningful experience to both Max and Armand. I enjoyed the way they eat the whole food and teasing each other. The most touching moment here, when they say to each other that they will cherish the experiences. Owhhh!! What an amazing video to watch!!!
