True. During WW2 one of the Japanese commanders said that they would never invade the US because there would be a gun behind every blade of grass. Basically referencing how many people are armed. Heck even the poorly armed French people and other occupied countries in WW2 harassed the German forces. Now imagine you got an invasion and you can bet gun regulation would evaporate and gun shops would be cleared out with everyone not already armed trying to get one. Any still trying to restrict fire arms during an invasion is likely gonna find themselves strung up on treason charges by the mob as it would be hard to convince people to give up guns when you have an active war going on not to far away.

There's thousands of 15 year old kids in the USA with more practice shooting than many countries' special forces. None of these kids are preparing for a military career, they just like shooting guns that much and have that many. The absolute hell involved with invading us would be unlike any other, our civilians are the most dangerous on the planet by far, every rural small town is worth somewhere between multiple battalions and multiple brigades of armed civilians, every small rural city is worth multiple divisions, veterans of a 25 year guerilla warfare combat zone live in every state to step up and lead, I would not want to invade us and it definitely will not work. We are full of crazy rednecks and military veterans who want to be heroes like our forefathers and defend the land, don't fuck around and find out and give them a chance, they'll travel from far away to do it just like Alamo.

That is somewhat true. However, think of who would be fighting against who. This fraudulent regime could never muster troops to fight against their own people. They would, instead, be fighting against the higher ups who had ordered them to fire on their own. The military swears an oath to the Constitution - not to a person. They would never break their oath.

"We are perhaps too much inclined to think that external invasion is the only way a civilization can die. If the lights that guide us go out, they will fade little by little, as if of their own accord. We therefore should not console ourselves by thinking the barbarians are a long way off. Some peoples may let the torch be snatched from their hands, but others snuff it out themselves" - Alexis de Tocqueville It's one of my favorite quotes.

Fun fact, and its already been cited again and again in the replys. But when i was in the US Air Force I worked intelligence. We got to read Operations of Battle for a US invasion one by Russia and the other by China. They both cited what the film did that basically invading the US would be sucidal and undouble. But the biggest reason they cited was because our population has guns, hunters, shooting enthusiasts, Militia groups, veterans, etc. The point being even if you beat the military the best option was nukes. Simply because its impossible to invade a place that has 300 million armed citizens. Even if only 25% of which wanted fight gurilla warfare with you. That is around 100 million man miltia.

Also remember that each state has its own military in the form of the National Guard (Army and Air) which technically is another form of reserves for Regular Army and Air (active). So even if the enemy does land a foot on American soil they'll have to deal with what is the "second" wave of the American military.

@@28dirtj The first step for prepping is to gather up enough foodstuffs to feed yourself and your dependants for a month or so . A 25 pound bag of rice and a 25 pound bag of beans cooked with some salt and seasoning will create three hundred pounds of food equal to protein in meat . That will feed you for one month . Multiply that by the number of people that you need to feed and purchase that much . I buy Thai Jasmine rice from a Cambodian grocery store and buy dry beans from a Mexican market . About $1 per pound for both items . Asians aren't much into eating or selling beans , and Latinos don't have the best choices of rice . I sailed for ten years around the globe , and have learned how other cultures feed themselves . Access to clean water is essential to life . The shortest distance to mainland America from Russia is through Canada. Luckily, we have NORAD, which this video fails to even mention. Canada is also America's largest supplier of oil, should the world go to hell. Another little tidbit of information this Euro centric video fails to mention. Canada may not have a large military contribution to the protection of the USA and North America in general, but we do have a massive geographical, locational and resource filled massive country that has America's back. 24/7 forever. They have the nuts and we have the guts. What? Do you think the US has Canada's back just for funzies? As a Canuck, I actually like how we're kept out of the dialogue. That's how we were underestimated in every major conflict. Have you ever sat in a cold, vermin infested, dangerous trench where camouflaged killers could sneak into camp and tear you apart? Moose hunting in bear and wolf country in James Bay has been done like that for thousands of years. Still happens now. Except now we bring Scotch, 4 wheelers and a fiddle. If you think America would be hard to invade, try invading a country that goes deep, deep, deep into the woods on the weekends in mid January while it's minus 40 degrees to sit on the ice and fish. For fun. Lol😂 Come on in. Invade us. We dare you. Maybe when you get here, we'll help fix those toes of yours that fell off, then make you a nice beer battered walleye dinner and talk about why yer so mad. I doubt you'll carry that anger over once we have pancakes and maple syrup come morning. Cheers! And God Bless America for doing what they do best. Taking all the heat and loading their guns loudly so that the rest of us can have some peace of mind in an ever increasing crazy world.

although i do admire our canadian bretheren both necause i like them seeing as hpw you can get to it about 30 from where i live just outside of Detroit, and its ap patriotic sentiment of your country but completely hilarious. i guarantee just our citizens or guard coild be sent to stop that and its also highly more likely your fellow countrymen who make a few decisiions wouldnt risk that so theyd ultimately be on the America side which would be pushed as an official withdrawal from Brittain which never officially happened and would be used to play mind games by our media and politicians. Believe it or not, by being so close weve all talked of a scenario like this and i statistically broke it down and it would take at least the 5 strongest countries combined to match the military might of america citisemzs included which would be an example of the US patriotic side. wed make a spectacle of that and it would work since the world is mostly pro americans and the general consensus is the land of never ending opportunity and can probably give at least one example america saves their people. thats why we can roll up in Afghanistan screaming "weapons of mass destruction" with no evidence and everyone getting the fuck outta the way. plus Al Quaeda is and was a problem for everyone. The threat of war with america keeps most dangerous countries mostly in check. 5 times was actually a modest number. it was 6 before the numbers started suggesting a loss. and numbers honestly barely matter. the strategical position we hold is too bidg of an obstacle to make it here in shape to fight the militia let alone the only real military super power among the whole world at this point since america is so far ahead of even the 2nd best let alone canada that has about 10% of the population. you might want to think about begging for that..... even if i dont agree with it im sure the masses of psycho ass gangs and sects here would easily oblige. youd be dismantled and a new government which is really just us would be placed in power im guessing inside a week if we put even a half baked effort in. thankfully for you most americans like myself would be fucking pissed and our government doesnt really go against its masses or the ant american people who live here would be gone too. but thats also for the court of public opinion. not only does america hold the most military power, but just our regular population woulkd be a much bigger threat to our government than any other nation which is why our government leaves well enough alone. thats the one thing we arent weak at here. we are very ready for that smoke. so as you can see there are many more problems than just the obvious few the video breaks down. your one chance is the opinion of the populous hating the idea of taking down anyone so close or throwing away our best ally. Wed hate it, so our government would likely placate you to make you happy and eventually the 2 would be synonomous as far as a fight against either. because youd be agreat partner for america. adding canada would make the 2 literally unstoppable. and your leaders would do it without a flinch. but with all of that being said, the same argument would go against anybody who dared to try and Canada has always backed us. its people are pleasant and generally liked here. i personally love talking with canadians. here in detroit there are a great many who cross that border every day. we even used to go there to party with their drinking age being 19 and allowing this since it acrually made us closer allies to allow that and made it easier to work on either side of rhar bridge. At least from people around here, we generally have a great opinion of canadians. And in those kinder areas is actually a better country and even in the moral department a better people as a whole. we lack things but military strength wont be one of those as long as america exists at all. we all know that and it makes the bad shit here a little easier to accept. the american people are always safe. ps.... the only danger we might have here are from the inside or you guys judging by the radical left here that are attempting to infiltrate all of our minds, but do keep in mind those sentiments have been quietly echoed by the canadian people, realistically canada is doing whatever we do as long as one of us doesnt welcome the commies

My two brothers have massive gun safes that are screwed into concrete. I’ve been to shooting ranges on dates. One ex bf showed me where all of his guns were, just in case I needed to have his very capable back. My brother heard a loud noise at his house at 3am. He came to my bedroom and had me walk behind him while he cleared his house, so that he knew I was safe. Even as an adult woman, having my armed 6’6 brother make sure I was safe while he cleared his home made me proud. Also, my other brother picks me up at the airport in his take home unmarked police car😂 Even my little sister has a gun.

Damn, I have five guns and enjoy shooting but I’ve never felt unsafe or paranoid enough for all of that or to carry one daily. I feel like a lot of people are so obsessed that they want a reason to use them, which is concerning. The noise in the house situation is definitely understandable, though.

The statement made that Seattle is largely undefended is laughable. Not only is the Puget Sound home to several large naval bases including the Bangor Nuclear Submarine base on Hood Canal, and the Naval Air station on Whidbey Island, but just south of Seattle and Tacoma is Joint Base Lewis/McChord (Fort Lewis and Air Force Base McChord), home to the 1st and 7th US Infantry Divisions and the 1st Special Forces Group. So even if an invasion force managed to get through the Strait of Juan de Fuca and into Puget Sound without being bombed to oblivion, the Army forces at Lewis/McChord would be able to respond. Even if they tried to make a landing on the Pacific Coast of Washington and take Seattle that way they would have to fight across 120 miles of land to get to the Seattle and Tacoma Ports. It just would not happen.

Almost everyone I know has some kind of military affiliation. Active, Retired, Reserves. WWII and Vietnam vets, recent war vets, great grandfathers, fathers, sons, daughters, brothers, sisters, friends, etc. People from all walks of life, age, race and creeds, California is the most populated state in the country. Almost 40 million people. Just because some of the state votes blue doesn't mean that the rest of the state wouldn't have a call to arms if it was needed. We are prepared as well. Men and women both. The original Red Dawn is actually pretty good. It does take efforts for plausibility, particularly Mexico collapsing and Europe (but not UK) turning away from the US. But yes it was pretty implausible. Still a very good movie because it wasn't trying to paint a likely scenario, just what would happen if it did. As others have pointed out, the armaments of average citizens would indeed be a huge impediment to an invasion. The movie obliquely touches on this.

This didn't even cover the actual coastal defense systems that are in place several hundred miles inland. There is another video that went into much more detail about this (using the same Russia/China team up concept), that mentioned the same points as this one, but dove much deeper into the U.S.'s local defense capabilities, and showed what an absolute nightmare trying to invade would be. So much so, that it pointed out that the U.S. would not even need to call back the bulk of its overseas forces to defend itself. It went on to mention that the only real vulnerability the U.S. has would be political disruption & fracturing the united social infrastructure. (Which, ironically enough _still_ would not allow for invasion because as was mentioned in another comment, each state has it's own standing military completely capable of operating independently from each other, and even with the collapse of a federal government, most states have very close ties with each other. Not to mention, the entire _civilian_ population is armed).

One of the most significant factors that you don't hear people often talk about is how the US is basically completely unmatched in warfare logistics, not least of which because we've been doing it for the last two decades. There is no other nation on earth that's been moving people, equipment, and war vehicles in and out of combat for as long as America, as efficiently as America, at the same scope as America. You can consider it essentially impossible to defeat the continental United States in conventional warfare. *No other nation is as experienced in moving as much material for war as the United States.* And that's if a force managed to actually _begin_ the thousands-mile journey without being decimated on the way -- There are _a lot_ of nations that won't like an American enemy moving their military _through them to attack America._ Not to mention that the US has bases and positioning _internationally._ Impossible. Landing in AL (or anywhere in the south or east) would be comical, as Georgia is the home of the infantry and US Army Rangers. North Carolina, ~8hrs NE is the home of the 82nd Airborne and Special Forces, and the US's largest and most well equipped military base (Fort Bragg). Regarding the Army _alone,_ the 82nd, Rangers, and SF are literally ready to move out to anywhere in the world with less than 18hrs notice. They'd be up an invaders ass before they recognized that it was time to clench. If conventional warfare is off the table, don't forget the US has two decades of experience fighting guerilla wars. All four branches of the United States military occupy four slots in the top 10 world's strongest air forces. Every single state has multiple official guard and reserve units actively mustering all throughout the year. This does not count for active duty military units all over the US. There are more legally owned citizen-firearms in the US than there are citizens.
