Thanks man, I can't help not using curly birch it's just pretty wood . I think my next project will most likely be purple heart wood or maybe desert hardwood. I have a nice chunk of dark purple heart wood that's a decade old or more. I need to take it and have it cut up cause I don't have a proper saw. I plan to take the Flissa budget scandi and make into something equal to a Casstrom or Joker knife. For $25 that's a great way to build a good quality lifetime user you can be proud to have on your hip Should be fun. Thanks for always watching and commenting, I appreciate it. 🫡

Thanks! It's a great EDC fixed blade. I think the full flat grind version is also a good choice especially if you cut food alot.

Oooooo! I love this! Now why can’t Brisa just throw some girth down on their handles like this is perfect, very nicely done sir👌 I’ve wanted and contemplated on purchasing one of these bobtails numerous times , they’re just pretty looking neck knives and i want to pair it with my Trooper, BUT those handles tho…. So Thin, like you said. Not sure if I can get over that. But this, this video just lit that light bulb in my head, thats a great idea, customize your own handle on a blank. I have never done one yet. How ever I’ve been thinking about it more and more. I love puukkos and the majority of the mainstream puukkos are just smaller companies making handles and buying up the same blanks, so i think, well why cant i just do that🤔 lol nice video, great work😊

@SliceyMcChop It saves a ton of money, and you get the handle you like. It's worth the elbow grease, in my opinion. Yep, there's a ton of puukko blanks out there, but most are rat tails. I don't mind rat tail blanks. They take more work, but they sure look pretty when finished .

One of my favourite knife brands. I have the pleasure of owning a Crafter, a Bigmuk and more and I believe they are absolutely outstanding. Judging by your sentiments regarding the contraindications of the index choil, you would enjoy the Crafter. Brisa does gorgeous handle scales in Curly Birch and I daresay by the looks your finishing work outshines theirs, which is fairly minimal in my experience. I keep hearing about this Tru-Oil, must remember to try.

@dongkhamet1351 Yes the crafter is nice looking. I have been looking at building their Trooper knife, that one looks excellent. I miss the lower price points the Trapper used to have. Now everything is over $70 for a blank cause of all the high grade steels like elmax. I'd really love a Trapper in 80CrV2 or D2 again . Thompson Knives has one in 01 steel for $69 its tempting. I've heard a rumor that 12C27n is being fazed out and that 14C28N will be the main Sandvik going forward. Not sure if that's true but I'd be happy with that, 14C28N is excellent knife steel. Brisa and NKD knives are some of my favorites just wish the U.S had more vendors selling their stuff. Thanks for the great comment 👍

@@airiksknifereviews9548 It would be my honour to make you a knife blank from a very fine vintage tool steel, in exchange for a coin of the realm and a critical review on your channel. The purpose of the coin is to indicate change of ownership to the blade so that she does not bite her new owner. So the coin can be of any monetary value. The real value for me is in the experience gained in making the blank according to your preference, within the parameters of 3×1" blade of vintage stock (OG heat treatment). Also and especially in the critical feedback from a knowledgeable and competent reviewer. If the feedback is good that's good - if it's bad, coming from you, that's even better because you will have a valid point to make that can help me to improve on what I love doing. I have big dreams. Starting small I got around 50 of these Stanley chisels from the 80's that make an excellent woodworking knife billet. I reckon I can turn them all into knives in a year or so, meanwhile I'm working on a bush knife with a somewhat original compound grind. Loads of videos about all that and more on my channel. Please stop by when you have a moment!

@dongkhamet1351 No only the main comment ? KZread was doing that to me a month ago really bad. I think it's because I get political on different videos and their sensitive Ai system flags my comments. It's just a guess cause it makes no sense to delete basic knife comments. If you do try posting other sites or share videos, sometimes they get deleted as spam .
