@@benjaminmarsolek6867 The crank rod bearings are good for about 3 seasons of a lot of summer riding. There is a way to measure the wear with out pulling the crank. You might want to change that and all the bearings in the tranny while you are at it. If that crank breaks the rod, it can take out your bottom and top end with it.

@@danielbazan7547 yeah, I posted this a year ago, and since then I've ridden it enough to tell you it's a beast of a bike, that's a solid trade in my opinion. 98 was pre emissions so it was all about power.

I have ridden my brother's 99' rm250 with a big bore and love it but he says I should get a 4 stroke for how much ridding I do. How often do you ride and what type of ridding? Edit: it wouldn't be a brand new bike

The quad ricers has me dead i love watching them and yes you have to ride it at least once before you sell it

My 97 would pump my arms so fast on a track, but I found it to be a great woods bike also. I rode whooped out sand trails in Michigan with it, and never felt so good on a bike.

Man I want this bike. Love the ole 2 strokers. If you were in Florida I'd snatch it in a heartbeat

I got lucked out with a 98 kx250 that was rebuilt from bottom up. I may not have a fancy new bike but I sure am happy to have one! If the price is right I know multiple people looking for first bike! From Michigan.

I had a 2000 kx 250. I put the split fire graphics on. Fmf pipe and silencer. Probably my best bike. It was the spring of 2002 one of the landowners in wellsville confronted me. That was it and with hillsville being closed my bike sat in my garage untouched until four years ago. I sold it probably shouldn't have. You should keep that bike!! I have a yz450 now getting back into it but it's not the same as a two stroke

I have a 1999 KX 250 with 12 hours on it. I bought it new. 2 weeks later I bought a1999 CR 500 so I don't ride it much. Sold the 500 in 2008 and paid cash for my 2009 CRF 450. Still have the KX. Best bike I have ever owned.

Brings back memories... I had a 93, 98 and 2000 KX250.

I rode with a couple guy with the KDX200 back around then. They cranked pretty darn good. Very capable aggressive trail bike.

Sheesh I wish I had that bike,I just got mine and needs so much work and I already started working on it as my first ever bike and hopefully everything goes as planned and I hope to least just get it running

@@petrolheadgokce6273 I really like mine. The motor is powerful and punchy. The only thing that you really need to do to is respring(front and rear) it to your weight. It will improve the ride and handling 10x. Also the brakes could use some upped stopping power if you're riding motocross. For casual trails they should be fine. This is coming from a guy that has a brand new YZ250F, so I'm pretty critical about the brakes and suspension. I ride the KX more because I prefer the two stroke power. I will say however, the YZ250 is said to be a better bike Idk though I haven't owned one, just rode for 15 minutes. They are easier to find parts for too, which is a big plus. Soon I will sell my Yz250F to try a yz250 but The KX I'm keeping forever. I bought my KX for a steal at $350 but I've put about $1750 into it to make it feel better than brand new. In reality I could have spent about $750 to make it very rideable. Hope that brain dump helps you with your decision 😆

My dads 250 kept fowling plugs LITERALLY everything he would first start it up and take off would not skip a beat on fouling a plug, did everything in the name of God I could do to it doing one step at a time trying to make a change and it was the throttle needle the whole time they wear without being able to tell with the naked eye. Changed it and now dad has had the same plug in his bike for months

Just pulled my 1996CR250 out of the shed and road it 90 miles. I am now looking for a surgeon to put my arms back in the shoulder sockets. I have 13 bikes and I say build another shed. Enjoy.

In 1998, my bud bought one. I rode it on our MX practice track. It felt just like my 1993 CR250, but the KX was just a bit better in all aspects. Great motor!

My buddy and I were in the local Kawasaki dealership in 1998 and almost bought a pair of brand new KX250 2-strokes but the guy wouldn't come down to our negotiated price. I wish he had and he probably wishes he had too. He could have sold a matching pair for CASH that day. I wish I had a vintage 2-stroke Kawasaki KX125 or KX250 today in 2023. Had I known they were going to discontinue them in the future I would have just coughed up the $500 - $800 we were arguing over that day.

Also unless its an iridium plug check the plug gap mine was to big and wasn't sparking at low rpm but it was the throttle needle at the end of the day for my dads 250 for why it was flooding everytime, and it sounds dumb like why would the throttle needle cause it to foul at low end and smoke crazy on idle but it did fix it it runs like new now will sit and idle all day long. Found out the needle thing from a dirt bike mechanic that worked on all makes his whole life and he said anytime a customer complained about fouling plugs all the time he changed that needle. Either the needle or your pilot jet man, usually you need to go a bit leaner on the pilot with aftermarket pipes not richer but if your pilot is where it needs to be its the needle hopefully this helps if you didn't sell it already

My 89 rmx would do the same thing had to always be on the power band or the spark plug would fail needed a top end rebuild now I have this same bike but black with no spark ugh 😢 now I have to replace the stator
