Fortunately, I'm distracted by the plants to even look at your moss poles. When looking at my moss poles, it's part of the journey to see leaves start covering them. 🎉🎉🎉❤😂

Thank you so much 🙂
20:45 to your credit, you have relatively fewer plants, but they are more mature. I agree with your point that a lot of people have the tendency to collect plants more than actually take care of them. Like my roommate who brags about being a plant "mom" yet here she is with 150 plants most of which are rather spindly, with barely any leaf, either too dry to the point of being limp or too wet and on the verge of root rot. I do have a parallel philosophy that my plants ought to blend with MY living space.
2 years ago, my motivation to start growing expensive plants was actually to make a little bit of extra money, because prices were really high back then and I realized that I had a bit of a green thumb. Now after watching your videos, I really got into maturing my plants. You introduced me to moss poles and I think I managed to improve my soil after watching your soil video. Thank you so much.

Great vid! This is something I learned over time with collecting. I quickly found I don’t want just a lot in number. I want plants that genuinely make me happy that are also nice to look at. I don’t want my home to look like a rehab center. I want lush full plants. This has made me examine purchases with a “stronger” eye or buy 2 plants and combine when I get home because buying plants has turned a lot into buying a leaf and acting like it’s a plant.

Superficial? Aesthetics are never superficial so long as function is maintained. For me, this was one of your very best videos as I'm passionate about both plants and interior design! I particularly enjoyed how you group plants and will use the methods you demonstrated. I've got a vignette in my bedroom featuring a fountain and a number of plants, but that's as far as I've taken it. I do use humidifiers as design pieces, ensuring that their mist is visible but the hideous units are not! I live in Tucson, AZ so humidifiers are necessary simply to keep basic tropical plants. Thank you for sharing your strategies and for elevating the overall aesthetic of your collection!

I love dark and sexy green plants. Whenever I can buy one I feel a level higher of achieving sophistication. 😎 I love all my unique plants. They all have a story to tell.
Another great video, thank you! I'm with you, terracotta pots look great in some homes but they don't work with my decor. Although I've seen terracotta pots in several alternate colors, I prefer keeping my plants in grow pot in cover pots. Unfortunately, for me to have any plants at all, I have to supplement light & humidity.

I supplement light in my bedroom too. Nothing wrong with that if done in a nice way :) but it can quickly get out of hand :D
I agree with steering away from green planters. I try to have either white or concrete planters to create uniformity.

i hate the look of terracotta too. I used to think plastic planters were the devil cuz of their water retention and that terracotta was the way to go but I learned the hard way that not only does terracotta look bad but it performs bad (for me) I was in the process of moving and all my plants in terracotta pots dried up but the ones in plastic looked perfect. still mad abt it

I suppose the functionality of plastic pots vs terracotta would really depends on your potting medium as well.

Ok, it should go without saying that your content is amazing and your talent for growing plants is spectacular...even prodigious!! I just found you and I've been bingeing your videos. That aside, I really just want to say that I LOVE your usage of the phrase "I'm sorry." For me, in the US, I'm not used to it but since my first language is Spanish, I will hazard to guess that your usage of the phrase is based on the fact that your first language is German? Would love to hear more on this! Thanks so much! Editing me: YES YES YES, I too am learning which plants grow best in my space and am basing my collection on that. For example, in my home I have a lot of windows but they all pretty much north/west north/east facing. My pothos, philodendrons, synonyms, a huge fittonia, and especially my hoya are all thriving. Peperomias, alocacias, and calatheas are not fans at all. And I too do not want to have to change my home environment to appease my plants. I have identified a couple of potentially great areas for cabinets but that is probably a little while away. Oh, and we also don't wear shoes in our home. Not only is this practice the ultimate in practicality, but it lends itself to a spiritual feeling as well.

You have beautiful plants. I like how you have the plants arranged in a way that make it work for you. Some plants can be a handful just to keep them alive. I don't like my place cluttered with a bunch of plants and I use humidifiers either. I don't like all that the moisture in my home air that I believe will create to start mold to grow in the home. Its just my opinion but different ways work different for others in plant care.
