    Song Of The Year. Next stop - BMTH ft. Dreamcatcher? Let that percolate for a moment, Johnny.... They're the most "Metal" of the K-Pop groups, and I would go insania for that collaboration. 😵 Forget "This is not my/your genre". Forget "You're too old to like this". Just embrace life-affirming, glorious music! 🤘❤️

    This was great. I was worried about the reactions it might get too, but so far it seems to be far and away the most popular track on the EP and it's getting showered with praise. Hopefully some lucky people will decide to check out more Babymetal because of this. I still am very surprised by how much Babymetal is in the track. This is much more extensive than the usual feature.

    The electronic sound was so good, because the producer for this song is Mick Gordon, who also did the soundtracks for DOOM. Both bands know each other for more than 5 years and are pretty much good friends. BMTH always tried to make the backstage areas at festivals more welcoming for the girls when they were younger. The collab between them was a few years in the making, if I understood one of the interviews correctly they even recorded a demo together before the idea to do Kingslayer. BMTH also opened a few concerts for Babymetal in Japan last year. I'm not a fan of the heavy amount of electronics, synths and especially the stylistic choice of the vocal effects, which is why I'm not very big on BMTH, but it actually works for me super well in this song.

    certain people (not on this channel) act like bmth "allowed" su to sing, and then babymetal had nothing more to do with the track. here in reality: (#1) babymetal had a large part in the creative process, and mk-metal (one of the members of team babymetal) shares a writing credit on the song. (#2) babymetal would had to sign off on releasing the song, which they never would have done if they thought it wasn't yet in a state that babymetal fans would appreciate. (indeed, this is not even the first collaboration between bmth and babymetal, just the first that got a public release. we may never know which side thought their previous track together wasn't working.)

    @@sirmoonslosthismind So far, luckily, I haven't seen anyone claiming what you talk about. What a load of BS. Well, I think ignoring them is the best option for all involved after so many years. Jordan Fish even said in an interview ( kzread.info/dash/bejne/qmeWqcxmYpe6o5s.html timestamped to his answer to the Babymetal question) that Babymetal basically wrote the whole chorus and all of the lyrics the girls sing. The BM team sent so many charts and went into so much detail with different options because of the Japanese - English translations, he thought it was crazy. I read somewhere else that BMTH even sent back the first version of the lyrics because they were completely in English and they wanted Babymetal to write/sing a part in Japanese. To your last point, I think it wasn't really about the demo track not working, it was more about time constraints and they lost the thread of continuity to work on it, something like that. At least that's something I vaguely remember reading/hearing somewhere.

  • @sirmoonslosthismind

    @@ANDOR- i mean, they obviously found the time to work on (and complete) a whole other track... "time constraints" is one of those things artists say when they want to answer the question without answering the question. they could have taken the time from _kingslayer_ and put it into that one instead, and they chose not to.

  • @ANDOR-

    @ANDOR-

    3 жыл бұрын

    @@sirmoonslosthismind Is constraints even the right word? I'm not a native speaker, sorry if I got it wrong. What I meant was, maybe they didn't have enough time to continually work on it together. It was probably a few years ago, maybe BM got into writing/completing Metal Galaxy and BMTH had their own stuff going on, so "not enough continual time" probably isn't that far fetched. And maybe when they both had the time again the track simply wasn't what they wanted or didn't work for either of the parties anymore, so they made Kingslayer instead. Jordan's answer in the interview only was "BM was involved in a demo before, but we never finished the song". I think we can interpret that however we want ;)
