He never said they were unhealthy. He said because it's a dominant gene there are a lot of brindles so financially they sell for less.

I get why some brindle are not desirable however I have a black brindle predominantly black, hes stunning and his sister was purple/blue brindle predominantly purple/blue also stunning. So some brindles are very desirable and nicer than solid colours.

i have a question if you have a Frenchie an had him tested an under the merle section it say n/268 next to merle an say one copy of merle associated SINE insertion do this mean my boy carry merle ? an if so do i need another female that is a carrier of merle to make the merle since my boy may only have a copy but he is not a visual merle ? or would that one copy is all i need to make a merle dog ? i have a female she is not a carrier of merle or a visual would he still give off one merle at least or no an by the one i love your videos i been watching them all so much information then any other breeder i seen so far an very professional i been liked an sub you an plan on getting a Frenchie pup from you soon i am going to my breeder supplies an buying that small incubator you showed in a previous video expecting my first litter thanks for all your advice an stay blessed

The merle takes out the brindle. Brindle can produce any color along with black.

So bully was a blackish Blue, and ticked in his chest. He’s 10 months now and now he’s turn grey on his side, his saddle tan has faded, and now you can see ticking in the grey parts of his coat! Hi James great video on explaining The only issue is with this that if you phone any laboratory in the world they have not found the genetic marker for brindle This is why company's have different codings on the k locus cos they are not 100% on this marker so they have to cover theyre backsides if something does not go to plan on a breeding Dominant black and the gene kn no brindling plus the switch gene which activates between the 2 genes allowing the fluctuation on the coat to occur I have seen kb kn dogs with no visible brindling on the dog at all found these to be on the shark line when doing research The switch gene when delved deep enough you can work out if breedings followed very closely to see how many switches are present on the dog Theoretically if a dog is kbkb it should be completely black as are Labradors as they are genetically atat A switch gene can exist between a kn kn dog but will have no influence on the coat as it cannot switch but when bred to a kb kn dog then a double switch can give you the outcome of a full litter of brindles I followed 4 gens on my breeding from a brindle girl and had all kn kn pups Also the reverse brindle can be achieved by applying this switch method when doubled up Hope this interests you

@@zarahendry5995 Hi should have worded slightly different lol so no confusion 😁 the dog was a dilute dog visually blue even thought it was aa at one point but was to light of a blue to be aa The dog in question was ay a whether it had influencers other than what we know we would never know the girl has never given me brindle off spring only n/n pups So whether there's one switch involved between the 2 genes and was very lucky to who knows Alligning both dogs and dad especially as you need to know what he is producing when put to the girl as it's about the both parents not 1 when concerning the k locus

The Dad was Fawn and Mom was Tan and White, all the pups in this new litter were black with white with no signs of brindle. The pup I bought is 9 weeks and still no signs of brindle, is it possible brindle will come out later as he gets older? Thanks

Brindle most of the time becomes more noticeable with tine. Typically obvious by 10to 14 weeks

I have a brindle that carries pied, dilute and cream, looks like he's a gene god

Merle is M/m and non-merle is m/m it’s hard to write that and it not look wrong though with rounded top m’s. Not to get into it but merle has some new research being done you might want to look into it because of the new alleles. They are Mc, Mc+, Ma, Ma+, M, and Mh. Mh is fairly common in your breed and deletes white and can cause deafness. Tilia labs in the Czech Republic can test for these. Since you offer a merle stud it would be a good idea to get him tested. If he is Mh and gets bred to a Mc+ female who doesn’t show merle it could be a catastrophic thing.

You are correct which why it’s important to test. I didn’t want to throw too much at him all at once. It took me a bit of time personally to get it all down. I own two dogs that are in Mary’s research.

I’ve bred a non pied blue dog to a blue Merle and he carried pied non of them were pied but I had one come out with that stupid line in the forehead that means pied. Pretty much pied with only one parent having one copy it can still make dogs with a white line on forehead

A single copy of pied quite often. Shies as a white patch on Chest or a forehead line

you can get a blue covered in cream. 2 creams always produce creams but the dog could be blue dd. But the blue will be hidden by the cream
