Interesting enough....that's how TIG was developed to begin with. In the 1940's, Northrop Aircraft was looking for a process to weld aluminum and magnesium aircraft parts. Russell Meredith put a tungsten rod in a stick rod holder.....flooded the area with shielding gas and the process worked. TIG was born. FYI.....retired TIG welder 35+ years...

Mr. Hoke, thank you for the information on the inventor of the Tig welding process. I Tig occasionally, when the job calls for it, stainless tubing and some Tig root on carbon pipe. I had to use the Tig rig the other day and I thought, I wonder who came up with this idea of Tig welding..and low and behold, you jus told me..thanks 😉👊👊

Yes agree 100 percent but it was first called heliarc welding by the lendie company was first machine reason being is because they used helium also 35yr retired pipe welder 100% xray code b31-1

Только алюминий варится переменкой а не постоянным током.

Youre right ill ask also how the argon gas works the explanation is not complete i think there is a foot pedal for the gas this video is deceptive he is trying to hide the technique this is very dangerous because the gas is continously flowing.

No hay problema por la soldadura, eso si tienes que cerrar la válvula cada vez que terminas de soldar por lo peligroso que es un gas inertizante en un lugar cerrado y lo otro es la perdida inútil de gas.

Well, there is a plasma welder that works like a Tig on steroids and runs on water.....that is without ANY Argon or other gas......plain water and electricity.....called the Multiplaz 3500 reviewed on the Tube elsewhere.

You can buy small canisters of assorted shield gases suitable for tig or mig etc.. I sometimes use soda stream bottles on my mig.

@@rossbixley3173 Yes, the problem is once you start to do Tig work you get carried away and everything gets tigged.....that means you really need a bigger bottle......the cost factor of smaller bottles is also part of the equation and running out in the middle of a job is another.

No , it is some kind of cheating . Тhis machine cannot weld, for example, aluminum , regardless of the capabilities of the welder . I'm sorry for ruining your beliefs. Cheap is cheap .

Hago jibi this is something i was actually wondering about last night. I saw another guy do it with a collet qnd had the hose attached above the consumables. Your idea is waaaay better though. Use the large diameter gas lens in order to achieve this

Brilliant idea ! Of course it will function - and maybe with a few advancements on the ferrule to holder clamping arrangement you could well do without a torch. Hell ! Im retired now from the trade... I would never have thought of this.?? Its a very smart concept with nothing new in parts Thanks

Посмотрел не один десяток переделок такого плана и не понимаю почему за tig аппараты ломят такой ценник...сам пробовал варить аргоном, но терпения не хватило научиться...))

Just happened to have a collet, tungsten rod and threaded ceramic insulator laying round. Probably spare parts for his tig torch that he already owns. But was a great video to show how tig weling works!

@@galibsalomov6059 никак... Кислород для резки. Аргон и углекислый газ для защиты шва. Это для сварки неплавящимся электродом в среде защитного газа.

Хорошо бы кнопку перекрытия газа приспособить,как на полуавтоматической и аргонной сварке, что бы расход не дешевого газа уменьшить,да и вреда здоровью меньше.

Вред идёт не от самого газа а от паров плавящегося металла! Аргон как газ нейтральный и не так вреден как СО2!

Один минус. Приходится отрывать дугу и при завершении шва теряется защита. И придется вольфрам точить постоянно. Хотя раньше так и сваривали.

Согласен, если резко оторвать дугу, может плохим получиться конец шва, но защиту можно и веруть, просто обратно после разрыва дуги веруть гарелку с газом(только это сделать очень быстро). Тогда защита будет хоть какая-то). Да и на неответственные работы пойдет в общем-то такой способ

@@zloychelovek3343 зачем тогда на неответственные работы использовать столь дорогой способ. И при возвращении защиты понадобится несколько секунд что вполне достаточно для появления пор или потери свойств металла шва. Происходит окисление. Что недопустимо для кислотных сред.
