Hi. Do.u.know maybe why my esp 8266 all the time disconnecting? I tried to updating and sometimes its working fine but sometimes I have a message " connection is failure " and my controller is offline. Thank you
The corner/edge pieces are a game changer. Channel diffuser companies need to put this in the market.
I’ve been waiting for someone to cover this and you did it perfectly
starting out with a fresh LED video is a great way to kick off the weekend. thank you!
Thank you Chris.
Ideal solution for my new drop ceiling install in my kitchen, well done govee and thumbs up,for the vid 😊
Been excitingly waiting for this review and it was so worth it! Thank you so much for making a well worked review video and covering this so well
Another great video Chris! Well done! It would be very interesting if you make a video about one solution (Govee LED + Diffuser System) vs Muzata Diffuser+ SK6812 (like your setup) with pros and cons for us the begginers so we can choose easier. It would be awesome.
Thanks Chris for making this video! KZread has been mostly dark on these since they were released. I have one of these installed currently, looking for somewhere else to install the other that I purchased.
I came in with "meh, more LEDs" but quickly went to "wow that is seriously cool". Diffused LED makes such a difference, I've shied away from any "permanent" install so far, but now I'm warming up to the idea. Thinking under the ceiling rather than above bottom trim though. Anyway - Another well-done video - thanks Chris!
Would you be able to get this to work with that motion sensor stair lighting?
Do they sell the corner cover pieces by themselves? This is all excellent review thank you.
This looks like a really great all in one solution! My only wish is that the sections were smaller (i.e., less than 6 LED/section) so they could more easily be used for something like under cabinet lighting.
Oh nice. Way easier than the other setup which I recently installed (your other setup with all separate parts)
that track is awesome, I've used non govee track and the corners are usually horrible to try and do
It's about time!!!
Love it
I just finished installing two of these in my TV room lol. I originally put the retaining clips the wrong way and couldn't get the covers on until I realized I needed to flip them around and it made the strip lay flat in the channel. Maybe I shouldn't do installs late at night. XD
Very nice. I like the all in one option Govee provides with their products. With a little bit of DIY. Is it possible to setup 2 or 3 of these or any Govee leds back to back? Even with each having their own power source but setup to look like one continuous long strip with the animations? I want to setup diffused LEDS that run across the whole room perimeter at the very top touching the ceiling.
Looks like I found my new under-cabinet lighting. I just wonder if side firing will be bright enough, or if I'll have to cut and resolder 90deg turns to fire them straight down...
Great videos as always. What is more cost effective? Buying this kit or buying the different pieces (led strips, diffusers, board to control the LEDs) from previous videos that you created? Thanks
Govee needs to chill out. My wallet hurts.

Lol wait til you have to sell your wallet too 😢
These are amazing. I noticed the RGBICW version is on the app. I’m hoping they release that soon so I can get those warm whites too!
I like what you can do with these LED's. It is just a shame the diffuser comes in such short lengths. You can see all the joins
EXACTLY what i was waiting for!!! if i buy two packs, it'll be absolutely perfect for my room! cheaper to buy these that use Govee's m1 strips and Muzata's spotless ones.
Are these LED’s the same quality as the M1 strip? Also, can this kit be updated with Matter?
$90 for 16.4ft (5m) is crazy.
hi, i saw that in some videos people used a resistor to increase the data wire distance, how much do you think it can go with and without ? (using an esp32 with ws2812b leds and without a level shifter)
Chris - just getting into LED for back lighting from routed channels on some shelving. What size / type channels would you recommend? Would Muzata U1SW be better than U103? Thanks
I just bought one but haven't set up yet. I'm look at the strip to go around my window frame.
Chris, do you think these are bright enough to use as a main source of overhead lighting when set to white? I have a 21x13 foot room and would install them all the way around on or near my “crown molding”. I know you mostly do ambient lighting, but am curious if you think these are bright enough to read (or vacuum 😂) by. Thanks! You rock.

I have nearly the same set up except I used the diffusers Chris uses in a few other videos. After testing myself to see how bright they would be at their brightest setting I would say that it is adequate light to vacuum and read however it's a very cold white and I'm not sure if that would be what you would want to read by. Maybe a reading light to go along with the molding?
Does give sell more outer cover pieces? I know they give you two but if you need four can you get extras?
Wow.... my first set of Govee lights was for a 65 inch TV several years ago. I think they were $13 or $14. It's crazy how much these cost now. To be fair they are more complex these days.
Can the Philips hue light strip give you the same results? Can you do multiple colors at once with hue?
Hey Chris! I just got my ESP32 Board, but when I was gonna start plug everything together, I found out it was the ESP-32-S board, and the pins are different. which one should I use for data on that board?
What's better this govee kit or the muzata U shape channel with the M1?
They look fantastic, what’s your opinion on the cost? Just buy or wait for a sale?
Dang that does look crispy
Awesome Chris! Can you please tell the music name at the end of presentation? Thanks!
Do we know if these work with WLED?
Would this work with the edges of a desk?
Would the LED strip be better for under cabinets in a kitchen? I know the difusers make a difference but the tradk and cover look like theyll protrude from under. 🤔
Hello Chris, do you know if it is possible to add an extension to Govee H619E. Thanks for your help.
Great review. I'm recessing these into a custom desk build so that the top is flush. Does anyone know the dimensions of the channels with the diffuser? (Thickness and width, not length) Can't seem to find this anywhere.
Can you use this on the edges of your desk?
I wonder how wide the channels are. Might be good for a big window casing, if they’ll fit.
Can I use these lights for staircase? Does govee has this option with sensor ?
Can this sync to the T2? Like the m1?
I love Govee and the M1 Light Strips, I just wish they could be cut at least every 3 inches.
Good video
Do you think that it would look cool if you used govee glide rgbic 3D?
this is a very good kit, I love my govees, these are the mutts nutts
I was hoping for a review of this. I wasn't sure what to search for since they don't appear to have a unique product name. I should have just come to your channel and looked. Of course you have the best review online.
I would love to see you use these led Channels with wled lights

I was going to ask about this - they're clearly addressable, but I'm guessing they're SPI based on the 4-pin connector?
@jordaynerjr

@@proffalken I'm guessing so I really want them to make a truly individually addressable LED light strip where each LED itself has its own chip
Do theu sell thoae diffusers separately? I have some of their strip lights but I could use aome diffusers that won't break my bank.
Hi Chris, Ive got a 4x4 media room, which I would like put something like this around the base skirting board and also the top cornice. I note your comment that these can only go a maximum of 10m in length. Can you not just link up a bigger transformer and tag on more Of these govee strips?
Good afternoon Hi Chris I recently installed around 11m of ws2815 (96led/m) 12V led strips using ESP32 and WLED software I followed a previous video you made and need some help if you would be kind enough please? I have two strips set up across the ceiling of my room - first being 7.6m and the other 3.4m They are both connected via some LED lighting wires. The strips are 4pin. I tested both strips individually and they worked a treat, however when I connect them together something goes wrong and the whole setup just doesn’t work. All the leds light up but can’t do anything with the WLED app- can’t turn on/off, change colours or use any of the effects I have tried adjusting the maximum current setting at various levels and still nothing seems to work When I disconnect the last strip and just have the 7.6m running - initialy doesn’t seem to work but need to reset everything and it does eventually come back on I know both lengths work individually connected but not together. Please can you help to sort this issue? Kind regards Sid
Chris, would it not be better to mount these above the skirting board? I’d be concerned about my other half hitting it with the vacuum cleaner 😅
Hopefully they will sell these tracks separately too, they look far easier to use
what's the music used at the end of the video?
I am searching for the width and sickness of the diffuser: could you help please?
don't worry my baseboard LED will be on the market again soon 😜
Are you able to angle it downwards 90 degrees when you hit a corner from the ceiling?
@emalior5000
12 күн бұрын
Don't see why not. You would have to cut both the base and cover at the correct angles. The hard part will be bending the led strip 90 degrees.
how do you add two of these together for the total 10M 32.8FT into one controller as stated? please explain this @chrisMaherDIY. I checked the Instruction manual and got nothing
How do you get those effects at the end bro?
@ChrisMaherDIY
2 күн бұрын
Thanks for watching! Those are just some of the scenes that Govee has or you can go the DIY create your own animation to play around with other options!
Was not expecting the diffuser covers to stick that far out but I suppose it's necessary to avoid hotspots.
Mine came today. Unfortunately, the both inner defuser pieces were missing in the box... What a shame
I would love to install this in my son's gameroom but this only goes to 10 meters which is 32ft. His gameroom is 11x11. So i need at least 45ft.
I wish they had non 90 corners.... I have a few rooms with non 90 corners
Only 90 degree angle pieces? Different angle pieces or ability to make any angle by twisting an angle piece would be cool as not all rooms are square.
Allow me time to pick my jaw up off the ground...Govee ftw!
“That looks OK but nothing special”, I thought. Then you showed the final results - “That’s awesome!”, I thought. I didn’t realise that the LEDs were individually addressable. I didn’t see it on the box (0:01).
What's the song in the end of the vid??

Is a berry nice product but it would be so cool if govee sell only the diffuser
jesus the disco light is real, I might grab it just for fun lol
Waiting the nanoleaf version, it's a very good idea to decorate an office room. Maybe to much night club for a living room ...
Question: do you think this can be extended if I buy another one in the future?
Is it possible to cut and splice these?
Why are they so bulky? The leds are only a couple of mm tall, the track and cover look to be 1 - 1.5 inches tall when assembled (back of track to the front of the diffuser cover). Would be much nicer if they were around a quarter of an inch so it's not so apparent during the day.
@TechTy
2 ай бұрын
Then you'd see hot spots, the extra distance from the LEDs creates perfect diffusion.
I think this is a great product but only controlling 6 leds at a time is a deal breaker. I guess they have to make compromises to keep the competitive price point.
Good idea, but the thick is too large and the result, in my opinion, not aesthetically pleasing to be applied for example on skirting board (it seems an emergency light)
@emalior5000
12 күн бұрын
Better if you have flush walls with no skirting board already and I'd personally push it all the way down to the ground. The reason the diffuser is big is that's how they Eliminate the hot spots as govee only has 60 LEDs per meter. On the positive side you get a 180 degree beam of light. They look a little cheap when it's off but the simple solution is to always keep them on when at home. And if you run them all the way to the ends of a wall you won't even need the plastic end caps.
can you extend it if you need more than 5m ?
Can you tie multiple units together into 1 long strip and then plug into one outlet?
Nope. Until they get it together & give us RGBICWW I'm not getting it
This gon be lit when clapping cheeks
looks bulky and the end caps look cheap, old kitchen plastic
£89 from Amazon for 5M. seriously?? My oh my.... I don't know which country you live in.. but For the average person in the UK.. these are unaffordable.. maybe in your lifestyle you could afford these at a whim of a thought.. but for the average Joe. These are pointless due to their cost.. I would kindly ask you to please make a video of something similar but affordable for the low income people of this planet. Now maybe your main subscribers are minted.. but there are more like me. Then there is of your financial standing. So please make a video that has a way of installing led strips that look similar but 50/60 percent cheaper..
