The best way to combat the wind and sink the line on the whip is to fish a whip waggler, The only time I would use a top and bottom float is if there is a fairly strong flow on the water, where you need to hold back slightly.

Nice fishing, just how I like it at my age (71) I taught my mrs to fish using a whip. On a calm day, they are good fun. Tried the pole, don’t like it. Rod and reel all day long. Just subbed in the hope more vids like this is coming. Merry Xmas 😊

Nice hoody and fleece Mark,very informative mate. Not done any of that fishing since the 60s on a smaller pond than that where your fishing mate,used to use an old biro pen when we were kids to make the bread pellet and used plain ground bait because nobody had heard of a blender in them days,hehe,cheers mark. Enjoyable vid Mark , regards the whip & punch I think the video will be useful to the guys out there that are new to punch fishing , I always plumb up and fish 1” off bottom , and when windy I put a small shot 6/8” above the float , this helps to get the line sunk and stabilise the float , once again thanks Mark good video ….

Epic as usual, Mark! This is down to earth "bread and butter" working man's fishing, totally relatable to ordinary anglers, especially here in NW England. That's why the support for your channel is growing. None of this "tarpon and barracuda in the carribean" bollocks that ordinary anglers with families and tight budgets find a totally unreal proposition. Well done on the 30 fish, I'd have done 6 and lots of missed bites! Have a nice Christmas! 👍 😊
