Спорт
Today I'm testing this interesting new tyre tool called Tyre Glider. Is it better than your regular tyre levers? Let's find out.

Bought one. Can’t wait until it arrives. Thanks for the video.
Liked your review so much I ordered one straight after watching your video
Very nice. Thanks for the discount code!
I like that this has both install and removal capability and in a compact size. I've been using the Kool Stop Tire Bead Jack. It makes installing super easy, but cannot remove tires and is quite long so probably a shop tool for most unless you shorten it. It also struggles with wide MTB tires.
Sometimes, a good idea comes along. Thanks for showing us Saukki!
Seems to be working! Tyre installation lubricant could be useful not to need even that much force.

Yeah that might be very helpful 🤔 Though who keeps lubricant with them during a ride? 😄

@@TheVelomobileChannel Never leave the house without it. You obviously have been riding a velomobile for a very long time and forgotten about the very "private" problems of upright cyclists between the legs ... 🤣
Wow, that's actually really nice! This is exactly how I use the normal tyre levers, but this one works without fiddling around :)
I ordered a bunch of them. Finally their shipping costs have been reduced to a fair price.Thanks for the video and the discount code. Love your channel altough I don't even possess a velomobile 🤪
My son and I have been using the Tyre Glider for a couple of months. I agree as your tests show that it works VERY WELL. It is especially good for weaker hands. Also because of its size/bright colour it is not so easy to lose. Thanks for another great review. Adrian + Simeon
Just got one!!! Thanks Saukki 🙂
That’s great! Thanks for the video.
Thanks. Ordered it and with shipping it is $17.95 USD to Texas. It is worth it to me as I have a velomobile plus a recumbent bike and trike and 3 grandkids with bikes.
Top tip! Thanks, Saukki!
Just ordered one as have been thinking about trying one for a while now. Thanks for reminding me and getting me a £1 off.
i did order one for my old velomobile the alleweder thanks saukkki
That's genuinely brilliant.
Thank you for this review Saukki. I have seen other reviews that sparked my interest, but wondered how they would work on a QV. You have answered that question, so I have now ordered one, (yes, I got the 10% discount, thanks 🙂, and for others interested, you can pay with PayPal.) £2.99 postage in the UK (2nd class). Steep, but worth it, if it saves my skinned knuckles!
Ordered ✅
Great review by a really good reviewer! Looks like a solution for those of us who are getting on in life and have weaker hands :(
Nice little gadget!! BTW Saukki my friend, I saw a new English city velomobile that had 12v little heater-fans to prevent their windshields to get foggy. I didn't been able to found back where they got these... but it could be amazing to have some of them to prevent foggy windshields and heat up your feet in winter! 😀
Great bike, good video. Wish bike tires were steel belted and much thicker as we have to ride on edge of road where all the parts from cars and trucks end up. New York messenger cyclist used to use them, but company that made them stopped for some reason.
I like this thing. Ordered immediately. Even the discount code was accepted. But I hope I won't need it very often on the Milan.
I like this tool. It's effective.
Use thorn resistant inner tubes. I've switched on my road bike and have not had any flats (I used to have that as a problem with my weight on the skinny tires, but now no issue).
Maybe make a kit with tyre glider, extra tube, and a tiny tube of silicon paste, or some sort of tire lube.
I ordered one. Looks very handy indeed. @sauki my Quatrevelo (it has a new name) will be delivered at may 9th and on the factories receipt I can see that they are going to put on “tryker 40-406” tyres. So I suspect they are making those tyres again. Or do you think these will be from some other brand or something like that?

Great news if they are making them again, but I’m affraid they might be some new-old stock from few years ago. But of course I can’t be sure.
Thanks!! I will have to find out if this is available in Canada... somewhere... So what gives? April 1st, but no video...? You got me last year, but not this year? I subscribed for the jokes!!!

Well in these times I don’t think it would be appropiate to make april fools jokes. Nowdays there’s so much fake and misleading content, so I don’t want to make more of that kind of content. And I’ve also been busy with other things, so I haven’t had time for that.

@@TheVelomobileChannel then I will have to make up my own. Check out my other post tonight on your other video to see how to make fireworks with studded snow tires. It is very sparkly!
Ordered.
I think about the only good velomobile tire left might be the Continental Contact Urban. Schwalbe makes hardly any 406 or 559 tires anymore and the ones left aren’t very good for Velomobiles.
my only gripe with the tool was when I tried to use it on a rim that doesn't have a bead rim it wouldn't fit to install the tire because the rim was too thick.
neat tool; thanks for introducing to all the cyclists on KZread; that's a very unique velomobile you have
I want that thing in yellow colour, because my Milan SL is yellow.
Wait until you try tubless tyres?
Ordered- now your reputation is at stake Saukki! (LOL) I've recently bought a Snoek which is even harder to change tyres than the QV! Up until now I've been using shortened Schwalbe tyre levers.

Ha, those tire one can mount and unmount with your hand. What about skinny tight fitting tires on race bike rims?
@TheVelomobileChannel

Good question. I don’t have any,except maybe those Schwalbe Ones on my Milan. But anyway, I don’t have any difficult tyre-rim combinations, so I couldn’t test.
@RideWithRoy

I’ve used it on a horrible Gatorskin/Triban combination and it works brilliantly. The only area of difficulty is with thicker carbon rims, but a new model is being designed for these.
I use a plastic crowbar for car interior.
Good tool but my friend,you could use some water and soap 🧼…wet all the surface and take care of your hands 🙌 😃🙃 have a lot of good kind of ride.🙂
Well, it broke at first try. 3/4 of the lip broke off when trying to bend the tyre from the rim. Maybe because the whole lip wasn't under the tyre edge when starting bending. Still useable though, just removed a tyre with the remaining 1/4th. Nevertheless...
@TheVelomobileChannel
2 жыл бұрын
Yeah, that might be the reason. On their website they state that the lip must be placed fully under the tyre bead. Ask if you can get warranty replacement. Might be manufacture defect as well 🤔
Does not seem like it would work on carbon rims?
Stock your go bag just in case the R's come to visit
And what about tubeless tires ?
@TheVelomobileChannel
2 жыл бұрын
I don’t have tubeless setup right now, so I can’t test. But atleast the Schwalbe One tyres on my Milan (shown in the video) are tubeless ready tyres.
Pretty expensive pice of plastic with shipping and tax… but it seems to be a quality of live change.
tilasin testiin menee
None of those tyres look particularly difficult to remove anyway.
There are multiple things like this on the UK market - if you go to one of the others then the code won’t work 😳🤪

@@TheVelomobileChannel yep - I was just looking on my computer whilst watching on the phone…
I just use my hands and fingers to remove tyres , always have…
Am I the only one that just changes his tires by hand? I never use tire levers. I just push the tire to the middle of the rim and remove it by hand.
@TheVelomobileChannel

No you are not. I usually change tyres by hand as well. It is quite easy to do. But also I’ve never had any good tyre tools until now. Only those regular tyre levers which don’t even work very well with velomobiles. I’m sure this tool is good to have next time when I have to replace a tyre in the middle of a ride in cold and miserable weather 😄

Do not throw away your levers. Recycle them.
