Фильм және анимация
Mark Kermode reviews Brigsby Bear. A man raised in isolation, with only videotapes of Brigsby Bear Adventures to entertain and educate him, finds himself stuggling to understand his place in the world when he finally leaves home.

I liked this. Didn't know that much about it - thought the premise was interesting. Was pleasantly surprised by how sweet and funny the tone was. It felt unique in that it wasn't cynical or mean-spirited. All the people in it were oddly decent - which you don't see in a lot of mainstream movies - particularly American comedies where everyone's a loud asshole for the most part. :)

Glad I read this. I felt like you did. Then listened to his cynical, but bang-on review and felt stupid. Then I read your comment and remembered exactly why I liked it again. I think the review is legitimate. He's seen many more movies than most people and knows the film's influences. Whether they were following a formula or just accidentally seeming to is an open question.
This is in my top 20 of the year so far. I was pleasantly surprised by this film.
Saw this on an Odeon Unseen showing. Going in blind is the best way to experience this one. One of my favs from the year.
I enjoyed this a lot more than Kermode it seems. One of the year's best for me
This is a very enjoyable film actually, shame that Mark did not like it more but I had a good time with it.
Enjoyed this but couldn't help thinking of the Brendan Fraser "classic" Blast From The Past.
I think it's interesting that it takes on nostalgia in a way that recognizes it as propaganda, but doesn't then vilify it.
Mark hamill is making a big comeback
lucky ive seen all the mention referenced cause Mark explains this films by spoiling Room, Dogtooth and then by spoiling Brigsby Bear, something the trailer actually managed not to do. Love ya Mark, but surely you know better by now
Love these but Simon always looks so bored...😊
I'll save you time. One of the more original movies over the past 6-7 years when movies could be original. Worth a watch.
Mayo knows C+C music factory? Good on him.

Well he was a Radio 1 DJ at the time, so it's his professional responsibility to know 😉
There were moments when I laughed so hard...and yet it wasn't exactly a comedy. I loved it.
Someone got the thumbnail wrong...;)
I happened to watch Mark's review of Swiss Army Man today and they had the exact same conversation about Songs that make you go hmm

Seems good, i should check it out some time
Quirksome?
It’s such a sweet movie, I loved it.
Loved this movie
from what you have described this would have been better described as a millennial "Bad Bear Bubby" without the incest.
There is a spelling mistake on the thumbnail. Sorry to be a pedantic pleb.
I enjoyed it. This years Room

it was!! I was surprised at how terrible it was
great film
isn't this the whole concept of the movie Blast from the Past with Christopher Walken, Sissy Spacek and Brendan Fraiser?!

Not quite. The guy was kidnapped as a baby (I assume you've seen it by now). Sort of the same premise, though.
Sounds like that Rick and Morty episode
man just enjoy the movie
No comparison to Bad Boy Bubby! 🤣
Is he saying airplanes or aeroplanes? Sounds like airplanes with an American accent, haha.
The plot twist is that it turns out the pollution WAS real.
I think mark needs to re-visit this film, he completely misses the point and doesn't understand what this movie was about. This film deserved far more attention and puts a mirror up to the typical Hollywood millennial teen portrayal.
Second!!!
I disagree with Mark here I personally thought it was a good film
As movie descriptions that turn me off from seeing it go, "Sundance Festival favourite" is right up there with "One woman's journey".
