I want to see Penelope happy and victorious in her love and relationship with Colin.

My totally overthinking it theory - I think that now that they are engaged, Colin is going to have to 'deal' with Penelope's family, specifically her mother to officially ask for permission, even though it' s after the fact. I think this will let him in on more of the reality of Pen's home life, and how Lady Whistledown was her only way out of her not so great situation. Because she never really thought she'd find a husband and her family, and the Ton is so horrible to her. Colin will get a better understanding of why she does it, and the power it grants her, I think more than Eloise does (I love the character of Eloise but she doesn't really think outside her own point-of-view and never tried to see things from Penelope's side of things). Colin's love for her, and seeing her perspective will allow him to forgive/understand her motivations and just want to protect her from any fallout.

This is a great theory. If things evolve that way, I think we might see a completely different side to Colin as well. He might feel more genuine in his feelings for Penelope. Love that.

This is theeeee best comment I have seen on any social media since the release of season 3! I feel the exact same way!

Colin and Penelope’s relationship did not blossom so fast. They’ve been best friends since season 1. It’s different for other characters and their relationships, their relationships have to be a slow burning romance. The reason for that is because normally when it comes to their love interests, they meet their love interest in the beginning of their season and then by the end of their season, they have their happy ending but the difference between those relationships and Collin and Penelope‘s relationship is that they knew each other since the beginning, so that’s why It probably seems that their relationship romantically blossom so fast but it didn’t. that connection between them has always been there since season 1. We cannot treat colin and Penelope’s relationship like all the other relationships where the people are just meeting for the first time.

Exactly! There was no need to introduce the character/love interest for the Bridgerton sibling, we know her the best of all the lover interests of the show. The back half of the season gives time for Colin to fall in love with the other woman in the room ... Lady Whistledown. lol.

But what exactly changed Colin's perception of Penelope so suddenly? A kiss? Also, yes, they were friends since the beginning and we always knew that Penelope was in love with him but we never got to see how Colin was feeling about her - except for that dreadful comment in Season 2

I want to see a Lord Whistledown! And wouldn't it be such a turning point for Polin that she reveals to him what led to her creating Lady Whistledown?

She could be much more understanding toward Penelope. But she is a bit opinionated when it comes to these things. I hope they can see eye to eye in Part 2 though

Penelope deserves a life of eternal happiness and prosperity. She is such a sweet soul who is constantly mistreated. I am glad that she is Lady Whistledown because it shows the genuine, iconic aspect of her actual personality.

I agree. Not gonna lie, a part of me feels like she deserves more than Colin. But perhaps, my opinion would change in Part 2. We will see.

We will see. But I highly agreed with her writing her paper on Colin in the beginning of season 3 because Colin was, indeed, ashamed of Penelope. This was messed up because Penelope always looked out for Colin’s best interests. I can’t wait for the ending of season 3!

@@ashmeyer21 Ya, my point is that no complete vulnerability has been directly communicated yet. There's passion & sexual activity which can be infatuation. I believe they love each other, but the video narrator said they've professed their love, but no, they've not.
