I was sorely disappointed. There was too much of everybody else and not enough about Colin and Penelope

I agree about the unfulfilled expectations, the first half of the season felt promising at least, the second was a bit chaotic and dramatic, not much romance indeed. It felt packed and rushed and many things were left unresolved (which I understand if it's done for potential expansion seasons purpose) or "resolved" behind the scenes. Overall enjoyable, but a little disappointing. On the other hand, it left me wanting more as I want to see how conflicts are resolved and characters honestly communicate, which I am sure is the goal here. To want more of Bridgerton 💭

IF they had focused on the full arc, and both of their growing acceptance of self to acceptance as a couple, it would work. Cutting out yet more scenes to add more of bens sex scenes changes the focus. And the flip of Fran's story proves it. I totally disagree with much of your view of Colin, though

I didn’t care who Benedict was in love with and he had more time or as much as Colin and Penelope. Plus he’s in the next season romantic hero. So why show so much of him in this season. The big ballon was a total disaster. That is one thing they could have left out. There was no reason to have it. They could have put more Colin and Penelope in there. I wanted more romance for them. In the first part they agree to not be together much and in the second part he was mad at her. The poor girl didn’t even get a honeymoon night. With a husband that won’t even be with his bride on their wedding night who needs him. But in the book Colin was really taken with Penelope and they had more romance and a wedding night. Who ever wrote this season didn’t understand how important it was with the fans to see them together happy. Very disappointed in this season and I want them to do a spin off with them like they did for the Queen.

I agree with you. I was greatly disappointed by the changes that the show made over the book. The ending was frustration. I wanted Colin to come to Penelope after she confessed and tell her he was proud of her. However, he just glared at her. Ugh.

But Colin did come over, he just walked around the dancefloor. It was lovely to have Lady Danbury congratulate Pen, she will be a friend in the future, and Lady Featherington was happy for her daughter as well. THEN Colin could tell her how brilliant she was and how much he loved her and lead her to the dancefloor. We needed the happy dance, didn't we!! ❤ If he had been first we would have lost the two ladies. Colin knew about Pen's plan, she told him when they talked after Francesca's wedding, I'm sure. His loving and approving nod during her speech showed that support that she had asked of him.
