BRIDGE SLOBS - Mid January Fishing

Спорт

It's mid January and the bridge fishing is hot right now. You never know what you are going to tangle up with when you fish deep water bridges near the inlet. I recommend using heavy tackle to make sure you can bring these critters out of the pilings and back to the boat. I can't wait to eat some fresh fish this week! Get out there and be somebody!

Fresh bait matters. Catch Mud Crabs under "stuff", below the high tide line (Wear Gloves, oyster cuts are nasty). The purple crabs with spots and striped legs are stone crabs and are illegal to possess.

Good to see you again. A great video as always. I have fished the same area in the summer time with not much to show for my efforts. What time of year is the best to catch sheepshead and black drum .

This fishery is year round, I catch bigger sheepshead between June and October and smaller fish during winter and spring. Big drum are here May through October and up to 12 pounds in the winter and spring. The smaller fish taste better so I fish year round…

Love your videos. Moved from FL to NC. Trying to find some good fishing holes or general advice fishing the NC coast. I fished the pylons near bicentennial park and caught quite a few flounder. Was hoping for some sheep head. Would love to sync up. Wouldn’t mind paying a fee to pick your brain to learn to fish NC

I’m curious about you choosing to use a spinning reel today when most often it seems you use a conventional. Do you have thoughts on what type seems to work best for you, or the advantages of each.

I was thinking this lighter setup would be sufficient for the smaller winter sheepshead, these large black drum were a pleasant surprise. I like the drag power and heavier line for cranking large fish from between the pilings.
