In this video I show you the full behind the scenes of a 10 minute portrait shoot with a bride and groom in harsh light. This was a timed challenge so I tried to take as many different creative wedding portraits as I could in 10 minutes.
This shoot took place on one of my wedding photography workshops in Cheshire in the UK.
All the photographs in this video were taken with my Sony A9 camera on the Sony 35mm 1.8, Sony 85mm 1.8 and Sigma 135mm lenses.
A massive thank you to MagMod for the opportunity of being one of the first wedding photographers in the world to try the MagBox for the first time. MagMod are a company and brand I absolutely love and it is an honour to be associated with them.
A huge thank you to Alannah and Victor for modelling who were both fantastic (you can follow them here: / alannah_victor ) and also to my friend Toni Darcy for kindly filming this video for me. You can check out Toni's KZread channel here: / @tonidarcy

Hey Neil, really love your content and thanks for creating one about harsh sunlight too. But i still face the problem of even darker shadows. How did you manage to not get shadows in spite of shooting against the sunlight at times, eg. The one where you shot them walking from behind

Thank you very much Sean! I use flexible spot as my focusing mode but to be honest it's mainly down to the camera than my skill, the Sony A9 is crazy sharp, it's autofocus capability is crazy good

Personally I love the Sony 85mm 1.8. I haven't tried the Sigma but the Sony works really well for me - it's really small and light :-)
