I remember when this was released, this was a huge deal in the Christian community, mainly for the better. I don't get how anyone who is a fan of either of this type of music could hate it. I still think it's pretty cool. It holds up pretty well after 15 years.

Saw them (Bride and DOC) perform this live, 1992ish, here in Louisville. Awesome show.

This was a good collab back in the day and y'all need to chill. It was the only song they did like this. I loved it and still do.

Petra did make the song, yet, I also like KISS's version because, it is something you wouldn't expect them to do. I am not surprised by Bride doing it but, when KISS did it, it was a surprise.

that said... Still Dale Thompson is one of the greatest vocals ever!! No one screams like him!

Essa gospel banda bride ?

Between this version and KISS' version(Argent performed the song originally in 1968), I'd say this version is almost as good as when Kiss recorded it in the late 80's.

In fact, it might have been the other way around where D.O.C. asked Bride to provide the music on this track because it appeared on the group's second album Pullin No Punches.

Did you read the full comment? I said the first rap/metal crossover was Anthrax's remake of Bring the Noise featuring Public Enemy. Aerosmith has never been heavy metal, and therefore Run-DMC's hip hop crossover of the band's classic "Walk this Way" is the first collaboration between a rap group and a "rock" band.

I don't know where you got your information from, but the original composition of God Gave Rock N Roll to You pre-dates KISS by three years. Argent released the song in 1971, and KISS released their first album in 1974. KISS didn't release their version of the song until 1991 for the movie Bill and Ted's Bogus Journey. The Christian rock band Petra actually recorded 2 versions of the song before KISS even considered covering it themselves.

And in case you can't read, this was a DOC song, featuring Bride. Rap/Rock combos (different from Rapcore in my mind) are so cool to listen to. Look at 116 Clique's Amped album.

Bride was on the same label as D.O.C.(Starsong Records) in the year this version was recorded, which was 1992. Bride obviously didn't want to do the same ol' typical cover originally made famous by Argent, so they asked D.O.C. to add some extra flavor to it. This song was also the first ever rap metal song in Christian music, sort of a counter to Anthrax's remake of Bring the Noise with Chuck D. and Flavor Flav.

Actually Shaun, while Argent first recorded, it was PETRA that rewrote the lyrics and recorded it on 2 different albums (different musical versions) Kiss recorded the original ARGENT version.

russ ballard wrote it 1st, but nobody ever heard of it, i just found out the other day, russ ballard wrote it, argent discovered it, covered it and then kiss rewrote most of the lyrics. my favourite version by far is the kiss version, i guess its because they're my favourite band XD

It's not on any Bride album. Read the description within the music video itself. It was on the album titled "Pulling No Punches" by rap group Disciples of Christ.

The only rap-metal collaboration that precedes this is Public Enemy/Anthrax doing a remake of "Bring the Noise." Basically you can thank them for setting the mode for Rage Against the Machine and Biohazard while Bride/D.O.C.'s collab set the tone for acts like P.O.D. and Project 86.
