What a sweet, levelheaded group; so supportive and thoughtful. They all made helpful, kind observations to help /the bride/ to come to what she’d like, and understood her AND didn’t force what they’d want for themselves. Just beautiful to see, the whole episode. ❤️

I’m so glad she picked the A line dress. Beautiful has got to be the best for a wedding. I was married in 1978. I chose beautiful, and all these years later, I still love my dress.

First dress is stunning 🥰🤩 flattered her so well. Pleased she chose it.

Those shoulder straps are so thick on the 'ballgown' dress it made her look swamped and matronly. She looked divine in the strapless gown in my humble opinion.

I may be biased but what a difference the U.K. version of Say Yes to the Dress is from the American one. There’s no OTT gushiness ,screaming and shouting or an entourage of endless family and friends with differing opinions who all want the last word! One would often think they were getting married as opposed to the bride-to-be herself! This was so refreshing in comparison and so much more sophisticated and genuine and the two dresses were beautiful.

True, but this one is unlike most UK episodes. David and his staff often come across as arrogant, especially when they select dresses far in excess of the budget and then try to guilt or cajole the bride to pay “just a smidge more.”

@lar5928 If you pay attention to what these brides want versus their budgets (many times £1,500 or less), you will understand why this version sometimes goes over budget. This store is in a mall in Essex. It is not a stand alone store like all the other versions. Therefore, it has a more limited selection. And when the bride comes in with £1000 big wants the sparkle and the "wow factor" the staff keeps going until the bride is happy. This is a TV show. Remember that. What kind of drama happens when the bride comes in, tells them her budget, and they turn her away? The drama ia sometimes when the bride has to determine if she will up the budget for the dress "of her dreams." Which kind of episode would you watch?

What they need to tell her is there is no wrong choice between those dresses. Either is beautiful and will work at the venue.

She was a doll, David always a doll but mother-in-law was precious. My MIL didn’t like me until just before she passed.

I loved the fishtail more, but both are beautiful on her. I think that's how her entourage felt, but they could tell she preferred the "princess" dress, so they all changed their tune for her happiness, as any loving family or friends should. Either way, she couldn't make a wrong choice between those 2 dresses. She's beautiful. As her friend said, she's got a beautiful "figa." ;)

there are very few circumstances where regular women get to wear a ballgown. You're in a French chateau. If you aren't going to wear a ballgoon in a Chateau then where will you wear one?

I think the bride preferred the 2nd dress, but was confused when her group thought they were doing her a favor by agreeing to the 1st dress. She really lit up in the 2nd dress. You could tell in the beginning she didn't like the 1st that much.
