Francis Hutchinson says Malaysia’s historical engagements with diverse international forums have not significantly strained its ties with major Western powers.

@@HasanaljadidBRICS is not entirely China. Compared to the US, BRICS has a better system that leans its currency's weight mostly on gold (not all of them), a classic system rarely used after USD became the main currency of the world. USD relied solely on debt, and thus has no real value. The US kept on creating money from nothing and those burden of debts are 'transferred' to the countries currently holding their currency. With BRICS, countries could trade with their own currency without relying on USD, so no more skimming off the top for the US. Russia, despite the heavy sanctions imposed on them, has actually achieved positive economic growth, a part of it is thanks to BRICS. You might be wondering why stuff is getting pricier annually right? One of the reasons for that is USD. In a way, we were keeping all of our eggs in one single decaying basket, but now there's an alternative basket to transfer our eggs into, a newer, not so rotten basket.

Simply because allying with the US has no real merit to the country. Even their BFF Saudi is joining BRICS, why shouldn't we? USD is on the decline and will continue to decline. It will become a time bomb for countries that hold the most, especially destructive for smaller GDP countries like ours. Before that happens, it is wise to not put all your eggs in one single basket full of explosives. That's what we are trying to do here, and most of the countries joining had the same idea too.

Sure, US mnc will hardly take that risk by investing here. When they can just channel that to SG & ID. I am curious if RU, CN or IN will invest in Malaysia than their own countries. Time will tell. At end of day there is always that high speed train to work in SG if things don't work out for us here ...
