Taking Africa out of the equation trades between EU & USA will be half and twice as expensive, which will lead to severe shortage and recession. Africa and the rest of the world must stand together and strong and take the or else and watch patiently as the US bullies itself in recession.. Reason it hasn't happened up to now is that countries got scared with BRICS that fear has been removed.

The only thing that will work is if the currency is a counter party to gold. Whatever currency you create, if it is backed by, and can be exchanged for gold, is the only thing that will work. Otherwise, you'll have to trust each other. The E.U. has learned this the hard way and may not hold as long they have hoped.

The Euro is a disaster because it forces dissimilar states into a grotesque chimera. African states should have their own currency but, Treaties between them to ensure exchange stability. Vertical integration of supply and manufacture should be entirely within the African Union. There is really no reason to import anything if it is done right.

I still don't understand what difference it makes other than now globally we'll be required to do our calculations using different currencies when we buy and sel. For example, let's say there is no U.S.dollar to be found anywhere and only the Chinese currency can be found. How does that change anything? Right now, I never have any cash. I do all my buying and selling using credit cards. So what? Nothing has changed!

The purchasing power behind the numbers is what changes, all that is based on trust. Once the people lose trust in the currency it's done for; doesn't matter if it's a dollar, a yuan, euro, or peso. The only thing people have trusted over millennia, as money, is gold (and silver.) It's been a currency for thousands of years.

BRICS is the right way to go
This is a financially healthy development and a further step in the de-colonisation of the African continent. Yet, it would have been helpful and a sign of encouragement to African leaders had the recent deal between China and Saudi Arabia to faciiitate the payment of Saudi oil and gas deliveries in Chinese Yuan been mentioned. It is proof that the BRICS approach works.
The poor countries that are trying to abandon the US dollar should go to the bricks Nations and see if they can get a break on the buy-in price. If they buy in sooner then later to a commodity-based trade system where they can vote on sanctions against countries that are overwhelmingly owing to their commodity-based trade system, I think half a percent less of buy-in would definitely encourage them to make the transition so that they could have voting rights on who owes what and when. If they go into default in a trade-based system, not abstract copyrights or we could do this in the future. Feelings-based trade where deficit is the law but trade-based you produce or you don't eat

It is always important to consider that FACT that Money and Dollars/cash, are two very different concepts.
America used to be a place where one could say their true feelings.
