Hi Mate. As a Time Served ( City & Guilds craft and advanced craft ) 2nd gen Bricklayer, my Father and Uncle both Brickies before me. It really warms my heart to see someone like yourself who knows how to spread a Bed joint, put on a perp joint, set out and can actually build a corner. I cannot abide these profile using, pick n dip cowboys who can't guage Brickwork, can't spread a bed and can't put on a joint. My Dad is no longer here but if he was he'd go barmy with all these dilutes who couldn't lie in bed straight, never mind lay a Brick. I enjoy watching your videos mate. Nice to see a peoper Brickie these days.

Same here, second generation brickie, most of my work done using profiles for the last 10 years and haven't built anything in Flemish or herringbone since college and I'm buzzing to watch these videos ❤

Great work. Rceently did a Roman heringbone style greenhouse base and walkway with a load of cuts. Used Evolution mitre saw on a bench with a diamond blade, used one hand to pull the cuts precisely, the other hand to spray water on the blade so I got more cuts out of it without it overheating.

If there was a load of cuts you should have set it up so you didn't actually have to hold the hose in your hand pretty much all brick/tile saws have built in water suppression

@@richardstetson8221 fair but I picked up the saw and stand for 50 quid and find that pulling the saw down on brick instead of pushing it though is more precise for the tiny cuts and I got to do it all standing instead of crouching down. The diamond blades are readily available in Screwfix for £35 quid and it has the bevel option. Many people own Evolution saws (which are nothing special for wood really) but don't realise how good they can cut brick

Trowels should do more to acknowledge, appreciate and promote our trade's Roman heritage. When the Vikings arrived on our island(s) it was documented how much they were transfixed by the imprint the Romans left behind and wanted to know how they built large brick and stone fortresses and defences.

Was in York. Seen Roman Wall. It was stone but had a string coursenof 2course brick. Apparently they knew about expansion/Compression courses ! Amazing

Using nails to tie in with. 😁 Have you ever heard of screwties , or why not think ahead and leave ties out , but i did like the trowels at the end doing a woodpecker inpersonation.

Allo mate to be fair 10/10 for convenience..light to handle ..we have 6 Batteries so always got charge ..only thing is the men keep using it haha going through blades like no tomorrow

I,m not a Brcky, but doing a garden wall project. You say that the decorative pillars aren’t supportive, but if I tie the pillars in with wall ties would this be sufficient for a 5 meter by 2 meter height wall? The garden wall width is 2 bricks tied in.

Been building a showhome on new site had a little disagreement about what minimum size 3 quarter should be against window I've cut them 150mm I've done this always but supervisor said Been pulled for it before 🤷 what's your opinion???
