Aside from being an awesome bricklayer, I must congratulate on your filming and editing skills. I don't know much about that art, but I suspect there's probably a million ways this video could have been boring as fuck but it isn't. The effort pays and your videos are very relaxing and enjoyable to watch.
Cheers Rodian, I want to thank you for your great channel. I always learn a lot from you. No other bricklayer really teaches, you do a great job.
Smart that Rodders, Takes patience and setting out. Well done.
Dude! I am brand new to your channel and it is seriously the best! I've been looking for A WHILE for a good channel to learn brick work and this is just amazing. Thank you SO MUCH for this content.
I love using reclaimed bricks ,, that looks amazing mate and first class work,, it’s brick art at its best and a joy to watch all the best mate
Great work Rodian. I have been a fan of your channel for years now. Im a bricklayer from Australia and everyone has a BT Engineering Brick saw over here.
Yes mate another perfect job, true to form as usual 👍🏼👍🏼
Lovely feature, Rodian.👍 Those bricks are mint as well, they look the part and compliment each other perfectly.
This was genuinly interesting to watch. Thank you!!!!
Nice bullseye Rodian! We put a 3' one in the gable end of our house using bullnose bricks. I think they are a great feature and enjoy the process involved in building them. Great video
Well as an old retired plumber myself who loved messing around with the bricks and blocks i thought it was brilliant ,your a veru skilled man cheers for the video, loved it,.
You are good really good and your brick work are why your true fans are here,I watch all your videos and learnt alot I like watching your page grow with subscribers.
Bricks Laid, Wages Paid! You never disappoint!! This is amazing :) Holly must think you are nuts!
Looks mint 👌 mate. Got your tutorial on how to measure and cut vossoirs saved.
Thank you very much for sharing the great work that you do with your craft / trade!! I'm always very curious how stone masons do the different styles.
Smart guy and the best artist worker !!!!❤
Love your brickwork and your Holly!
The artistry of the video, the music, and the build on point! Best video!!!! Cutting bricks, we use a quicky saw here, but I would love to buy a BT brick saw.

Thanks Eric. I am very happy with how the video turned out. I am finding the chop saw and large grinder a bit too fiddly. Just cant get the cuts perfect. A few people are saying BT saws are good.
Lovely job Rodian 👌🏼. I think I’ve only ever done one in college 😬. Get one of those BT engineering bench saws , they are the business 💪🏽🧱👍🏼
Great Build Rodian. Really enjoyed this well put together video !
Great video as always mate. Love that you cut all the halves around the circle instead of having big joints. Here in the US some bricklayers won’t take the time to cut them and they look like shit. If it’s a big enough circle you might be able to get away with it but still looks bad
Much respect from Germany. Love your brickwork

They should be teaching this at schools to help those with talents like this and get them ready for the big bad world! Brilliant love this!
You're upping your game all the time. Love it 👍👍
Greetings from Maryland, USA. Excellent work. My father was a very skilled brick layer also. I'm an old man now, but when I reflect back I am amazed at some of the brick work I saw him do. It's a rare skill anymore.

That is a shame. I think there is still a lot of bricklaying in the UK, or as far as I am aware. People here like bricks. They really age well too.
I bought a Sheppach wet cut table saw for my cuts. Super clean cuts, no dust. Bit expensive if you've only a few cuts but you can hire them.
another inspiring vid rodian. Well done. Great to c your subs have soared from 10k to 30k in no time. Thanks for the previous words of encouragement. I have almost cracked video editing and expect to upload my many construction vids online within the next few weeks. keep a lookout.., all thanks to people like you. Any last words of advice are always welcomed. Thanks again.Tye.
Love the channel . I’m an Irish Brickie and just bought the London wide NELA trowel . Maybe you could review it . I’m in love with it . Also maybe just an idea you could do a twisted / spiral chimney layout . We have a few of them on the houses near me and they are a bit Ott but the mrs loves them . Thanks in advance
Glad to see it being done with the proper math and techniques. It's come out perfect Also happy to see PPE being used. Maybe you could do a quick vid about it and address tradesman stigma about wearing a mask
I see the tools of a mason it all makes sense now...great stuff
Mesmerising!
When cutting bricks I always use a labourer, if they get it wrong you can always blame them!!

Bricks laid wages paid! I think this might be the best video yet, as far as content, I do wish you could’ve done more close ups ( but I loved it as it was) of laying out and cutting the brick. Jolly good!!!! Cheers, Jamie

Nice job Rodian. Quite a lot of geometry going on there, you made a challenging job look easy. Glad to see the subscribers are steadily going up.

I find that in pretty much every decorative build there is a large element of geometry. Definitely a challenging build but very happy with how it turned out 😁👍🏻
Great looking work mate👍
Awesome brickwork!!!
Very good job brother. Thanks
totally awesome.. love ur vids.
Great, for cutting brick, a tile cutter with a brick blade. We used a wet saw, like mk diamond..Love the Coors on the brick, this would make an excellent stone wall with circles as windows
Love your vids Rodian, keep em coming. You’re very talented...video edits are great, and make the content so much more engaging. I’m no builder, but find your videos very interesting and entertaining. Are you planning on picking up the general vlogs stuff again? Cheers mate, stay safe.
Awesome.
Beautiful job 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Great job
Nice work 👌🏻
красивая работа - приятно смотреть!
Looks good mate. Just that one cut top left of the bullseye as you said yourself. Top job tho. Very fiddly and time consuming. Love the channel. 👏🏻👏🏻
Nice! I have not built bulls eyes or arches since mid 70's and early 80's. Not much call for it in North America but still miss it.
Outstanding pal 👍🏻👍🏻

Great video! I love the end result! I wish you didn't skip the most interesting part, how you cut (shaped) the bricks to fit in the circle. I didn't catch what you called it in the video! How come your mortar (cement) has a cream color and not the usual grey? It looks nice in my opinion. What type of mortar and/or mix did you use to achieve this?
Great job thanks DUNEDIN FL

Nice work
it is really beautiful, I wish I could do it 😁
Subscribed!!!Really great bricklayer.
Quality job mate 👏 👌 Iver got the norton clipper saw 400mm, good but the blades are getting hard to find. If you search under Altrad Belle you should find them - around £1200 new but you might find a good secondhand one. All the parts are available and I think they now have a 350mm blade which is much easier / cheaper to find. Sorry to go on a bit 😅 Have a great one Regards Tim

Rodian you made bricklaying so interesting. This bullseye window is something that I would like to learn to build :) I decided to build brick BBQ for start and bought marshalltown trowel. I saw you have book. Can you recommend any book about bricklaying please.
Neat job. Interesting how you cut the curved bricks. Worth doing because it does make a big improvement to the finished effect. Look forward to next one. Could you have a go at some of the other trades to get the house finished.
@RodianBuilds
3 жыл бұрын
The curved bricks were difficult to cut but they look much better than a straight cut. I have other trades coming in to get the house done...vids coming soon🤙🏼🧱

@@RodianBuilds That's great news. See if you can have a go at each of the trades, and what you can teach us. Interested to see which walls you are dry lining inside. Vancouver carpenter is my fav KZread chan for that. Also on plumbing if you are going plastic or trad copper and what kind of fittings you prefer. I'm not keen on plumbing behind fine plastered walls, but you would have to specifically design the house in a certain way to avoid that.
Badass.
That's nice brother 👍

Rob Songer is another fantastic bricklaler
Very good
Amazing! I just started my apprenticeship and going to trade school soon, my coworkers showed my photos of their complete work doing a bullseye. I didn't think it'd be done this way with like a clock hand going around to make sure the cuts are right. Is this how they do it in trade school for the assessment?
Very nice Dude
Great work! What saw are you using to cut the voussoirs?
Rodian I like your work, if I need an arch built I will give you a shout!
Lux 👍
Looks great, I'm a DIYer and really enjoy your videos. How would that work with a cavity wall, would you just repeat the process on the inner skin and use a cavity filler for the gap?
@RodianBuilds
3 жыл бұрын
Pretty much yes. You wouldnt have to be too detailed when doing it out of blocks as it would be plastered over. Use cavity closers to fill the cavity and you're good to go 😁👍🏻🧱
I cut all my brick with a wet saw, dry each off and use the first one as a template, and make them all at once. now I don't know what's left in my storage I think I need a plug for my wet saw, but I'll grab a 16 inch one to.depending on how many cuts I have to make, if I'm doing a patio ill cut as needed with the 16 inch,i always score a little deep..bring the saw to the rear and sink it,
😉👍 good Job
Nice 👍

G/day Rodian,That looks good mate. When you mentioned the brick cutting and asked is there a better way,I thought I'd let you know how we do it here in Australia. We have used bricksaws for a long time here.I started in the game in 1968 and probably bought my first bricksaw in or around 76.The became a very popular machine for the hire companies for ten years or so, and then almost all of the sub-contractors started to purchase their own. This coincided with the advent of dry pressed bricks been largely replaced with wire cut ones, (plenty of dry pressed still available, but much dearer) with lots of perforations through them. They are often very brittle and fracture easily,so a bricksaw is, as I said, mandatory these days As someone else mentioned the BT engineering models are very popular and although costing quiet a bit (around $2000A)they will last for a lot of years and the parts that commonly have the most wear are readily available.I think BT have started to export their extensive range of tools and saws over your way recently.I think you'd find the saws to be a massive time saver and do a great job but,as I mentioned not a cheap tool. All the best Rodian. Regards Terry www.btengpl.com.au/
@RodianBuilds

Thanks for taking the time to comment. I have seen a few people mention the BT saw. Wow £2k, that's a big outlay🤔Maybe I could find a second hand one for cheaper. I remember using one in college and they made awkward cuts so much easier. I'll look into it. Thanks again buddy 😁🤙🏼🧱

Cracking job I do like a bullseye arch and for cutting brick a metal chop saw whit diamond blade👍😎

I find the chop saw with a diamond blade quite tricky to get perfect. The bricks aren't always square and they can bounce around when cutting. It does the job for the moment though 😁🤙🏼🧱

Work well done! Where do you buy these bricks?
Rodian, it looks like you cut the bricks on the circle to a different length on the inner and outer diameter positions. Can you share how you did that? I'm going to change a rectangular windows opening to a 30" dia circle in my house. This video is really helpful. Thank you.
