is bricklaying a good trade to get in to? good money? I'm a plasterer but looking at doing courses in bricklaying and making the switch, must be loads of money to be made in building extensions, houses etc... any advice....

If you're the boss yeah. The proper paycheque as you should know, comes when you master the trade and are able to find work for yourself through the reputation you've earned.

don't go down the raffle route mate, all your going to get is people bitching at you. why don't you do something like a demonstration of bonds, small section of building in Joyce level. cross section of lintel, how to work brickwork into a step foundation, and the reason why you wouldn't work over it. setting out steps. how to build a manhole. the list is endless.
